I have been playing DAoC for just over a year but have become disillusioned with the lack of roleplayers on the RP servers... I want my EQII experience (never played any other MMORPG than DAoC) to be as fulfilling from an RP perspective as possible.

To those vets out there, how much hope should I hold out that a good roleplaying environment will exist on the EQII RP servers?

Have you hit up the official website? some RP guilds we're posting on there a few weeks back. Look around there and try to find a good guild, RP guilds seem to be getting fewer and fewer.

As you may already know I like RP but there is a limit to what I consider overboard. In DAoC even the RP servers lacked IMO. On Percival I had a char and deleted it because everyone seemed to want to get me to 20 to go PvP. I went to CooP because I do not like PvP. I haven't choosen a server for EQ2 and won't be on until close to Christmas. Need a video card now. :(

Well, there are two RP Preferred servers right now. I play on Antonia Bayle, and from what I've seen, there is a pretty good amount of RP'ers on the server. My guild, Learo Solais is an RP guild, and I know that many others on the server are as well. Who knows what will happen eventually, but for now, things seem to be working out ok.

There are a good number of non-RP'ers as well, however. Many come to the RP preferred servers because there tends to be less "leet" speak going on, etc. But having limited MMORPG experience myself, I'd have no idea if this were actually true.
