Well in my experience, it usually does. I've been a cleric in EQ1, EQOA, and I'm a cleric on EQ2. They've always been a great solo class at lower levels due to thier healing powers, decent AC, and the fact that thier DD spells haven't quite fallen off in effectiveness compared to the other caster classes yet. Usually after level 20 things get much more difficult for the holy people of Norrath/Tunaria but you can still effectively solo undead creatures for a while. Right now I'm lvl 12 and I'm takin out yellows like it's nobodies business. I can't see this continuing for too many more lvls unless SOE has done something to accomodate the players who prefer to play solo. Good luck in your adventures and remember, Clerics are the ultimate group support class (Bards a close second), and one of the advantages is you will seldom have your "LFG" tag on for very long. Happy Hunting! :D
