Just repeating what was posted on the front page for those who go directly to the forums:

We've added a new feature to our site - Real Time Chat!

You can now chat on our servers using any IRC client. We have set up channels for each game we cover, plus an OOT channel and another one for the asylum. To join us just point your IRC client to server irc.allakhazam.com, port 6667. From there you can join one of our channels and talk real time with other players. When you first join, be sure to register your site user name by typing /msg nickserv register USERNAME PASSWORD

I used to use IRC but stopped a long time ago. Any good programs that people are using right now?

Haha! GREAT! I currently use Trillian for all my IM needs. Wasn't aware that I could also IRC with it. Thanks!

If you're using trillian, getting setup is easy - actually chatting and the like is a bit more complicated.

To Setup :

With your trillian open enter your connection manager.

Click Add and choose IRC

On the right it asks for a servername, enter : irc.allakhazam.com (remove the - if it's present, seems to be a default entry in that box and it isn't necessary) for port enter 6667

Give yourself a nickname and an alternate. The rest of the info is your choice to enter or change. You can click save for all if you'd like but it's not necessary.

Click create and connect.

You won't see a thing happen at this point. You'll need to click on your "show channels button in Trillian (this is normally in the upper right hand corner). You'll see your IRC connection. Double click on it and you'll get to your IRC session where you can start chatting.

At the bottom you'll be able to type. Start out by registering your nick

/msg nickserv register login password

replace login and password with your login name (that you entered above during setup and a password of your choosing).

After that you can /list to show all of the channels. To join one all you do is /join #channelname (ie /join #eq2)

Once you're in a channel you're set. Remember to say hi!!
