The medium armor fighter types can wear after hitting 10th, are iron chainmail and iron brigandine. Other than a small weight difference, is there any reason to choose one over the other? I imagine they probably look different.
Just curious if I was missing anything on these two armor types.

Using either, I believe, ups your skill in that category of armor. Just like using weapons for those skills.
I could be wrong though as I do not recall seeing a message telling me my armor usage skill went up- but then again I might have just not been paying attention.
