Questions about EVIL/GOODFollow

#1 Nov 17 2004 at 11:57 PM Rating: Decent
hey i would like to know some stuff before i buy the game. My friend and i wanna play together (level and maybe questing if it is possible) and I wanna be a Ranger and my friend wants to be an Assassin.
My questions are as follow:
1) Can an Assassin play as good? what lvls can he or should he?

2) Can EVIL and GOOD party together?

3) Do you need decent STR for Assassins?

4) Are those Half elf chicks hot or what?

1-No, Assassins can only be evil

2-Actually, I'm not quite sure about that, I don't see why not.

3-I would assume that Dex would be better than STR for an assassin

4- n/a

3) Agility is used as the primary trait of all the Scout Archetype derivatives. Apparently (from other forums), high agility increases damage and effectiveness of the specialized Scout combat arts moreso than strength.

Unfortunately assassins are evil and rangers are good, so you wouldn't be able to play together until at least after 20 I think. I'm in the same boat. I wanted a ranger, but my friends all had evil toons, so I ended up having to play an assissin in order to group with them from the start. Smiley: bah

I have a question about good/evil myself. I started a dark elf and am hoping to turn him to good and make him a Paldin. Is this possible or are dark elves only allowed to be evil?

Ys, you can become a dark elf paladin, as long as you do the betrayal quest to defect to queynos before, I think, level 18.

*edited for clarification*

Sorry, but Dark Elves are evil only. Paladins are a good only class according to

Yes, but that's why betrayal quests exist. If you wanted to do it your path would be:

1. Start as Dark Elf Fighter
2. Obtain Freeport Citizenship
3. Become a Crusader at level 10
4. Betray Freeport for Qeynos around 17-18
5. Become a Paladin at level 20

Any strictly evil race can betray Freeport, and any strictly good race can betray Qeynos. And your link is broken.

Hmm, worked when I previewed it.. Oh well. I thought that if you started with a neutral toon and chose evil, that's who the betrayer quests are for. You could then choose to betray and move over to Qeynos. So the pure evil toons are not stuck in Freeport then?

Heh, didn't work for me before, and now the link is working again, strange..

To post a link here, don't use the [link][/link] stuff. Just put http://www.somerandomlink.com

[link] is if you want to use word for your link instead of the URL like this.

You can also just use , which is what I usually do. Or Text for this effect.

ok, so if i understand correctly, we could play together at 20++?
But if he chooses Half Elf, which is a neutral race, he cant betrayal Freeport?
And if he can, lets say at 18-20 he gets the assassin quest done in freeport, then he Betrayl Freeport, would that be a possibility?

thanks for the clarification guys, it is really apreciated.

You can't betray past level 18. And any race can betray their starting city. From what I recall, at least. So he couldn't become an Assassin and then betray, because you do the Assassin quest at 19-20.

Thanks for the info. I will try it out when I get to level 15. Hopefully it works. :)

all right thanks alot!! i apreciate you taking time to answer me, thanks again.

oh yeah one more thing, at 19-20++ can a ranger and an assassin level together? just not questing right?

You actually have to betray before lvl 18. You're capped at 17 till you finish the betrayal quest once you start it. and as for the ranger assasin thing, you can't start the quest for your subclass till lvl 18 sooooo if you betray freeport to go to qeynos at lvl 17 when you get to qeynos and become lvl 18 you'll only find a ranger trainer there. and if your friend betrays qeynos for freeport at lvl 17, when he hits lvl 18 he'll only be able to find an assasin trainer.
