Betrayal QuestFollow

I'm fairly certain I posted on another thread asking about this, but I can't find the thread so I'm going to ask as a subject.

I know we can't attempt the betrayal quest once we reach 18. But if we start it by speaking with the initial NPC, can we then gain exp that caps at level 17 +220% from completing quests before we actually do the instanced portion of the quest that gets you removed from your initial city?

Long question I know but important none the less.

As far as i know as long as your not lvl 18 you should be fine but it would be for the best to have the quest done before you reach that point.

The main reason I'd like to know is because of all the exp gained from doing quests in the city, and I don't want any undone quests. If I have access to them I want to finish them before I leave, as such if by accepting the quest but not going to the sewers to talk to the guy for Freeport does that put the cap on, or does talking to him and getting kicked out of the city put the cap on.

(Mind, I'm in Freeport so I'm using the Freeport NPC's in this example but I'm sure the same applies to Quenos) If the cap is put on after you talk to the initial NPC Stilus Graphium than it's possible for people to finish up quests they didn't do because they didn't want to get bumped up over 18. If the cap is put on after you tak to the second NPC Kenjedeau, than you are not going to be able to finish the quests you have, and must leave the city if that is what you want to do.

It would probably be best not to gamble on a cap. You must complete the quest prior to that level. That doesn't imply that you stop levelling until you do. For obvious reasons, I think.

Also, I've been reading on the main forums at sony -- make sure you "Claim Contents" of your house before beginning betrayal quest, including baby dragon and anything else important, before you get yourself locked out.

Alright thanks for helping out.

The answer is yes. Once you've started the betrayal quest, you can't level past 17, but the xp will continue until 220%. Once you complete it, you'll ding.
