I was on for the first time last night, only for a little while, and was immediately annoyed by the SPAM. I could not figure out how to set up filters and windows so that all that ooc and shout stuff would go to it's own little window, like I like it in EQ1.
Also, I found two of my good friends, and added them to my friends list, but could not figure out how to make "tell" windows, there is no option in the options as in EQ1 to "use tell windows" Unless I missed something.
Is this option availible?

well just create new chat windows.

in your main chat window right click it and hit chat options. make sure you deselect /ooc and /shout to go to that channel. on your newly created chat window right click it and go to options and select /ooc and /shouts to go there. woola.

I must have missed something. Will have to go back and look. Are there preset "channels"? I saw the place to create channels and join channels.

The place to add channels (Chat Options) allows you to set very specific pieces of chat for a given window. Just expand the options on the left pane (+ buttons) to see what'cha got to use. You should be able to make something out of it all.

Also, don't be surprised if the settings of your new chat windows are not saved consistently when you log off and log back in. It's been happening to quite a few people, including me. So far, logging back to character select nor desktop seems to consistently save the settings.

There's a good chance you can disregard what I said above, due to the last patch (just read the notes).

If this: "Main UI: UI settings should now save more reliably" is what I'm hoping it is, then yeah, forget what I just said.
