Are you in the dog house yet?

Have to ask this question.

Has you Girlfriend/Fiancée/Wife got annoyed because you played the game a few nights in a row?

Last night when I got home I turned on the computer and got “The look”. Now when I get home tonight…. To turn on the PC or not to turn on the PC that is the question….

The GF is sitting behind me (on my computer) starting her own little Priest Artisan.

Now I am stuck on the crappy computer playing FFXI, heh.

Well, I have not even recived my game to be able to get in the dog house yet. However, she usually goes to bed early enough to not worry about me being on the computer anyway. i think I can get away with it:P

lol, i was in the dog house last friday when i begged my wife to buy me eq 2, she knew i had a copy on order, coming but it was taking so long, and i didn't want to wait the weekend, and she knew i planned to use two accounts, i always do, 5 asheron's call accounts, 5 eq 1 accounts, and had 3 horizons accounts. only 1 asherons call account active, for rent payments, and 3 eq accounts prepaid a year, cool thought added eq 2 to them only $5 per month
anyways dog house becase 1 hour after we get home friday from buying the game UPS shows up with it. opps. she wasn't happy at all, plus UPS made me pay $35 duty, i'm so ticked by that here in canada the game instore cost me $70.00 , my preorder cost me in the end $140.00 doulble, but thats anoter posting. sony is in dog house for that one.
i do make time for wife everyday, i record tv shows on the computer so i can fast forword comursials, lol i can't remmeber how to spell that word, that long since i tried.

best thing for all of us to do is either get them to join us, get 2 computers. or take time for dinner and a movie or tv.
or be like me and buy a LCD monitor and put it on the coffee table and get a cordless keyboard and mouse or cord extentions, so use can sit on couch with the wife and watch tv and play at same time.
my wife watched me the first day she liked the voice overs from npc's.

My wife looks at me with pity as i sit like a grinning idiot playing the game. I'm sure it will pass and I will get a barrage of overtly loud sighs, uneccessary wandering around behind me and 'the look' when I go to turn on my PC.

I am on the verge of being sent to the doghouse. We weren't married when EQ1 was out, but we were dating. I now use that as the excuse, since I tell her, "You knew what you were getting into with me, don't get all weepy on me now!".

Then she goes shopping, makes me poor, and have to go back to work to pay for her 113th pair of shoes.

I was never in the dog house with the wife, but I did get the looks of pity while playing FFXI. Finally, she said that she'd try out EQ2 with me - she didn't want to get into FF because I was too far into it. I really need to thank her for that some day BTW. :)

Anyhow, I think she might be more addicted than me now.

"Dear, I want to go to bed. I have to work tomorrow."

"No, I want to kill things!"

Why are we assuming that only the men are the ones who end up in the dog house because of their love of the games? Although my Husband plays as well he works third shift, so therefore I get to play more often...and I get to advance higher than him, which causes its on set of problems. Right now we are the same Lvl I'm a 14 Half-Elf Warrior and he a 14 Barb Crusader and I try not to play too much without him......But boy it's hard not to turn on the computer and advance your toon. :)

lol i was going to use the word spouce instead too, your right some wives play more then the guys too and could end up in the dog house. but some how us guys always loose the argument.
it's funny i'll get mad at my wife for something and some how i end up appologizing. any women out there willing to tell us your secret to doing that?

I have been kind of in the dog house. I have fully warned my wife for the last few months that when EQ2 came out I would be spending a great deal of time on it and she seemed ok with it, but now that it's here she makes me feel guilty for playing and not hanging out with her. Luckily she does go to bed a few hours before I do so that gives me that time to play without interruption. Those that have wives that play you don't know how lucky you are......

I am getting the guilt trips as well.. Its just frustrating, she just dosent like games like EQ2 and thinks im weird and am shutting out the world while i play.. I spend 90% of the time im home or out with her and just ask for a little time to play but she still gets upset..

Only have one foot in the doghouse at the moment. My wife said last night that she likes me playing this better than FFXI because I'm not constantly angry anymore. I never noticed, but she said I was always pissed off when I was playing FF. Give it time, though; I'm sure she'll start hating this game, too...

My wife played FFXI with me and enjoyed it, but she said she won't play EQ2. I guess the idea of us spending what little money we make on a second computer (a good one, since mine seems to just barely run the game on its minimal settings) doesn't appeal to her. /sigh None of my friends play either because they don't have new fantastical computers and are still deep in FF... Why, oh why did I coerce them to buy it and play it with me?

Being single has some advantages...

Although right now if I wasn't single, I think I'd have to risk getting in trouble just to play.

I wake up on saturday mornings with all intentions to get things done. Then I put a pot of coffee on and head to my office. Evenutally the coffee finishes brewing and my gf wakes up delivering me coffee while rolling her eyes. She sits down at my other desk right next to me and does the online crossword puzzle.

She doesn't like me playing so I don't play any other time she is around except for saturday mornings.

No dog house here. My husband and I play EQ1 and EQ2 together. So neither of us have anything to complain about. We sit close enough together to see each other and chat without screaming across the room, and we both get our fix.

To all you married couples out there, get your spouse to play somehow!!!!!!!! It makes ALL the difference in the world!
(use the last ditch effort card "but it means we can spend quality time together if you just tried it")

I've found doing some laundry and dishes around play time greatly decreases wife aggro when playtime comes around. :)

My wife always says she doesn't mind me playing.
But I've found if my gameplay extends more than 20-30 minutes at a time... Anymore than that and I get the "boo boo lip" I'm hurt look.

I hardly ever get to play during the work week, instead I must wait for Fri. and Sat. after she goes to sleep (usually midnight) to get my 1 or 2 hours of play in.

For those who have partners that play games, I'm envious!
