Poison and fishes and platinum - Oh My!Follow

#1 Nov 16 2004 at 5:21 PM Rating: Decent
1. How does one use poison? Is there a skill involved or is it atomatically applied randomly when you have it in inventory or what? I've not yet purchased any and dont want to waist the money if it requires skills I dont have.

2. I heard we can fish - how? I've seen the poles for sale. Is it just like EQ1? Is it at all profitable.

3. What are the current best sources of silver at level 10 and beyond.

1. No idea!
2. You dont need to buy a rod, just find a shoal of fish and double click on them and you magically pull a rod out from a slot in your spine. Up to now the only thing i have managed to do with the fish i have caught is make soup...lots and lots of sunfish soup! Who knows if you will be able to trawl out some 'lost' loot when your skills go high enough. The good thing about fishing is that no-one really does it (from what i see!) and in the newbie zones where you need to build up your skills you should have no problems finding a good fishing spot....which makes a change from rushing around trying to beat people to the rock or arbor!!
3. Im at level 13 and am still doing quests. I actually find it half decent as I often get rewarded a piece of armour that I can use or sell (or sell what i replace) for up to 2 silver at a time plus any extra little cash bonuses they give and sales on loot. I guess we are still in the phase of the game where everyone is running around trying to figure out the best ways of making cash. sorry i couldnt help more on that.

hmmm...that said..i did have a little money making scheme in my head that i was planning on trying tonight. Run around the newbie zones looking for dens, trap hides and turn them into backpacks. I am level 9 artisan and easily make 6 slot packs at the moment. Last night in about an hour I managed to accumulate about 15 skins, that's 7 packs. plus the cost of coal and re-agents you can probably make a pack at about 30cp and sell it on for a few silver. I wonder how much people would pay for those packs??
Aha! whilst I'm on a roll....gather elm aswell...make strongboxes...again I can make 6 slot ones and sell them for people to increase their bank space. Both os these ideas will also need some tin, so dont forget to mine every time you see a rock.....gotta be quick tho.....run forrest run.

Cheers
Minky

1 - Dunno :( Sorry, I don't use it.

2 - What he said. Just wanted to add though. Some fish are sellabel to merchants. Like, in the Forest Ruins are an array of fish and a Troubling of Deep Lurkers. The array will give you frogs, sunfish, and flounder. The deep lurkers will give you average deep lurkers, or something. I have yet to see a tradeskill using them, so I sell them to merchants, for like 13cp each. Not much, I know. But 8 of those and you have a sp. Wouldn't make that my primary sourse of income, but, if you happen to pass by some while killing mobs...

3 - What he said... Seriously, quests. A lot ask you to kill things. You get a reward, and mob drops. Sell anything you don't need, and if you thinks others will, sell it to players. Things that are harvest from the ?s, for example, usually sell for about a silver on Blackburrow. More if they are rare/in demand.
