Hey all,

Hoping to get some help here. I decided to buy EQ2 as I have always "regretted" not being able to start EQ from the beginning - I don't want to miss anything this time :-).

Well it's going ok other than a LOT of lag, but I have a couple questions I can't seem to find the answers to and here they are:

How can I make my chat window stop disappearing? Right now it only reappears when my mouse runs over it. Although I"m sure this works great for some it drives me absolutely batty as I keep missing people talking to me.

The second question it about seeing. I made a barbarian, who of course has no sort of ultravision or any such thing. So by the time it becomes night, I can barely see. So I looked on the vendor and saw candles - cool - so I bought a couple, couldn't equip them.... so later I found out they were for tradeskills. So then I save up all my HARD earned money (still getting used to the difference from EQ) and spend 4s and some copper on a torch. Well I can at least equip the torch but it gives me no light. Seeing that it goes in an "activatable" spot I'm guessing I have to light it or something?

Somebody please help LOL I'm feeling really old and slow here (all these new fangled games and such hehe).

(edited to remove EQ signature)

To combat the night vison with Barbarian. Turn the Gamma on you settings up a bit. It helps alot.

And the chat window.. On the caht window upper right hand corner is a little circle. Click and choose Window Options. Set all of the sliders all the way to the right. That will turn of opacity.

That's it..

OR, alternatively.. If you want the boxes to fade but still be able to see the text, on the options, put first set of slideres (top left and right to the RIGHT, turn the next to sliders (Right side to the left, left side to the right) and the same for the third set of sliders.

IE:

Right Side Left Side
(Slider Right) (Slider Right)

(Slider Left) (Slider Right)

(Slider Left) (Slider Right)

Thanks for all the help guys :-) And krazytwin - if you read my original post - I did buy a torch, even equipped it - but it gives no light. That was why I was wondering if I had to light it or some such crazy thing.
