Can anyone tell me where Lt Darius is in East Freeport? He is part of the Freeport Citizen quest. Thanks.

Actually this doesnt seem to work...

I asked a dozen guards about different NPCs in their same zone and they all shurgged. I tried the entire name, part of the name and even wild card...

Broken?

actually I submitted this as a bug to EQ2 team, his is acutally spelled Darrius (2 Rs) in the zone, while in the quest window its only 1 R

Actually it nearly works all the time. The caveat, however, is that the guard seems to need to be within a certain distance. If you try to ask a guard on the opposite side of the zone, he/she may respond that they don't know.

Also try just the first name or just the last name. If the guard recognizes the name, they'll tell you the full name so you can double-check that they're pointing you at the right NPC.

(Some zones have multiple NPCs who share a last name...)
