^^ Im an idiot sorry for double post.

Anyway, what do you think is better/more important for a level 14 crusader? A shield that gives more AC or a hard hitting sword?

I have a long sword that is like 5-12 and shield that gives me 55 AC.

Should I lose the shield and buy an iron claymore with more damage or stick with the one hand long sword and shield for extra ac?

Im in full iron brig except I have the crusader quest chest plate, and Im looking to MT more than assist so Im think the ac is better, but I thought Id see what youg uys thought.

Uh... besides just the AC component, the size of the shield gives a bonus; it will automaticially block an additional X percent of incoming attacks, and as I recall the percent blocked is actually quite large, from 5% for a buckler ranging up to... er, a value for the very large shields.

I'd reccomend getting a good shield if you often find yourself tanking, frankly, and even if you're not always doing so. The DPS you produce won't be exceptional with either setup, but the great tanking bonus that a shield provides more than puts it over the top.

If your primary role in a group is going to be a tank, then always try to get as much AC as you can, then go for damage. You can always pick up a scout class for some dps.

Yeah, I agree with the other posters. As a tank AC is yet again god, plus the shield bonus and yer looking at a nice piece of gear. When I was playing beta shields were broken usually, so I didn't use them too often.

One thing you might consider is having a 2h weapon (they are rather nice damage) around for solo-ing and go with 1h when grouping because if you're the main dps in a group you should prolly leave the group lol.

Oh, and aim for slower weapons with higher damage too. Ripostes are yet another way for mobs to spank you =)
