Anyone played with their housing yet? I've found some annoying things:
House items only seem to face one direction. For example, my statue of Lucan only faces South. So, that leaves me with one (small) wall I can place him on in my free inn house.
The books that require a house to read also have this problem. They stand up straight with their spines facing south.. So, I'm guessing that means I can only place a bookshelf (when/if I get one) on my north wall, otherwise my books won't fit..
Is there any way to rotate these items? Is this something I should /bug?

Did you try right-clicking on the items once you have placed them?

Use the + and - keys on the keypad to rotate directions.
Can also use your scroll wheel on your mouse.
