Hmmmmm

So I started my gnome Scout with the aim of eventually being a dirge or troubador (haven't decided yet). I only played for 45 minutes or so, but now I'm wondering if I've made a mistake in my race choice.

Gnome have such a low strength rating, I was hoping to get some opinions on Kerra vs. Gnome for Scout race choice. I was kind of interested in Half Elf too, but they're so stupid-looking I don't think I could stand to look at one every time I played.

So anyway, the AGI is pretty similar for Gnome and Kerra, 25 vs. 23 I believe, and I understand that to be the most important stat. The Gnome strength, though, is a paltry 12... and while the Kerra has good strength (22, I think), the intelligence for them is low (15).

So,
should I just stick with my Gnome and not start again? In the long run, do you expect it to be more difficult to compensate for the Gnome's 12 strength or the Kerra's 15 intelligence?

I guess, partly, what I'm asking is whether I should go for intelligence or strength. Either way, I suspect the answer is that I should just play whichever one I think looks cooler and deal with the details later. Still, any feedback would be appreciated!

From an experience beta tester, stick with the gnome. Racial starting stats don't make much of a difference, as stats from gear and advancement options will quickly overshadow the points you start with. If you're worried about low strength, when you get your first chance(level 8?) to choose a character trait, take extra strength.

For what it's worth, I've got an Erudite I'm working toward Dirge. I've got less AGI and less STR than you, and I'm not worried one bit about it.

Yea from what i can tell stats wont mean much <starting stats that is> since you get options on advancement later on which is cool btw. Im playing A troll priest and loveing it. Im planning on going templar eventually lol.

Haha, awesome.

Yeah, it's nice to know I can stick with my gnome if I want. Now I just have to decide if I like the way gnome or Kerra looks more!

I have to admit, I'm kind of attached to my gnome even after only under an hour of playtime. But the Kerra look so cool.

Grrrrr....decisions....

I probably should have been a dwarf, though. They all can learn to summon ale!

Am Playing a Gnome and it is pretty cool. I occasionally have a lil (hehe) problem fighting but ask for help from a passerby with the occasional difficult mob. I have found that groups love scouts, so the group effort overshadows my small strength disadvantage

Yeah, I finally got a chance to play a little last night. I created a Kerra, but then I logged out before choosing a class and decided to just play around with my gnome more.

I ended up playing for a couple of hours and doing some quests. Apparently I spent too much time killing things before I started the Scout quests from the Ratonga, but now I'm in the middle of those. Gnome is working out fine.

It looks as though I will stick with the gnome. I can't help it, I have an affinity for small races.
