For me RP'ing adds a great deal to the immersion and fun of playing. I didn't play beta, but am very happy with EQ2 so far. I'm at level 9 now, and so far everyone seems pretty intent on solo-ing to get to 10 and then 20. The brief conversations I've struck up so far have been enjoyable, and I feel pretty confident that I'll be able to find some good companions for grouping, and eventually guilding with, when I get past the easy-solo levels.
I've played a bunch of MMORPGs, but EQ always impressed me as having the best community of players overall. (Yeah, every game has its share of fools, but they seemed a smaller percentage in EQ than most of the other games) So far ::::knock on wood::: EQ2 seems to be living up to this too.
Say 'hello' to Arlissa on AB if you'd like. Right now she plans to become an Illusionist, but that's a ways in her future yet! :-)
