Way too early to say that it was an improvement though, since it's still random - I got 12 atmas (6 for each character) in 30 minutes pre-adjustment while you heard of people who went months and not seen one, so it still has the element of RNG as I see people in my FC still say nothing felt different whereas others are saying it improved.

The patch notes state that the drop rate was increased. So it's safe to say it was an improvement. It's too early to say just how much it was improved by. But you would have to be very jaded to claim that it hasn't improved at all.

Gotten three tonight so far. Guessing it's closer to 10% now. Got one on the first FATE, the others by the 3rd or 4th.

Well the patch said more than doubled.. if it goes from one percent to two percent that aint much..... But anyway it sounds to me like it still is a pretty significant increase from before from the people I have heard from..

It might be as high as 20-30%. Either that or SE inverted everyone's hidden luck stats.

The patch notes don't actually say how much it was improved by. I've heard "more than double" mentioned in some threads. I think it was something Yoshi mentioned, perhaps in a live letter?

It was during the live letter they held during the Vegas Fan Festival.

I think I remember reading about that. Did he specify it was increased 5x as much?

4/29 is a small sample, but it was definitely enough to give me a "feels like" impression. And that "feels like" impression is enough to make me consider doing atma all over again on SCH. Whereas, before the patch, I wasn't sure if I would ever finish it on BLM and wouldn't have even entertained the thought of doing it again on another job.

Edit:
Just to expand on the "feels like" factor. Now: feels like I'm making progress. Before: feels like I'm pulling teeth from something that doesn't even have teeth.

I am 0-fer still since the patch. It almost makes me wonder if I am actually on the quest, even though it is in my quest list as showing I need atmas and I am using my Zenith in FATES in the zones. Just one drop....just one.

... on your quest list?

I didn't have it on my quest list. Only thing I had on there for ages was "Quake me up" for the Titan clear.

You might want to go talk to the white haired dude again, just to be sure.

"Up in Arms" should be in your list of completed quests under Side Story Quests. Only then you can collect Atmas with an equipped Zenith from FATEs the designated areas. If it's still in your active quest list, you still have to talk to Jalzahn in North Shroud.

I just finished the upgrade today on my bow so here's the run down.

Started quest Sunday prepatch and spent 4 hours with no drop. Tuesday 3 drops, Wednesday 4 drops, Thursday 3 drops and today Friday 2 drops.

Time spent was about 12-16 hours, 2-3 hours in the morning and 1-2 hours at night after work. Mostly waiting for FATEs to pop so actual time spent fighting was less. Longest time for a drop for me was in Central Thanalan others either drop with in 2-5 FATEs.

There is no indication that your doing the quest from Jalzahn other then what Xoie said, you get a popup telling you it dropped and the items shows up in your inventory.

Please note this is just my experience and your mileage may vary.

Ok good, it is in the Completed Quest list. I had just been in East Shroud doing Sylph Quests. I would do FATEs there and have gotten nothing for weeks. I was getting concerned I missed a pre-requisite.

I would also stop in FATEs in other zones too. I will admit I am not grinding it. Just doing it along side any other activities, but still figured I'd have one by now.

No idea how I got my first 12. Felt like I was working for SETI.
