Did i join the game to lateFollow

everyone has these absurdly high item levels and I just got to 50 a day ago. I honestly don't even see the point in attempting to try endgame because most people refuse to work with new players. I went into ifrit hard mode and it was plain annoying because my health is like 2800 meaning I couldn't miss a single step while everyone else could just take the hits like they were nothing. hell even the unavoidable one wrecked me. should I just wait until the next expansion? I like the game but since no one really wants to deal with new players I might as well quit. No I don't want a carry I don't want to be in a group where everyone can say ***** the rules and stand in the red or blue area of death

Have you unlocked the dungeons that make up the High level roulette? If so, I would work on beating those, as that roulette will give you tomestones of Mythology and Soldiery, as well as possibly some gear that should be an improvement over what you have. In addition, doing the Low level roulette on your level 50 job, the main storyline roulette, and the beastmen quests will give you Mythology tomestones. Those can be used to buy ilvl 90 armor and accessories. The Soldiery can be saved up to purchase ilvl 100 armor and accessories.

If you can find a good FC that's willing to help out with these things, you can work on building your equipment up to a point where the HM primals are beatable.

Illsaide is right, it is actually a lot easier to get to the ilvl 90's than it used to be. The game moves in weeks and months, not hours and days. Expect an investment, but you will be well rewarded.

Also, ifrit and the other primals are pattern battles. If you memorize the pattern you should not have trouble, assuming your connection is relatively stable. Good idea to do online and watch a few videos and read a text guide prior to entering any version of a primal battle. Unfortunately it is not like Monster Hunter or even the Behemoth and Odin FATEs, where much of the battle, if not all, is unscripted.

Have you tried posting this OP on the official forums? You would get a whole lot of different reactions from there than the kind folks on ZAM. Believe it or not, once upon a time all of us players were doing the entire primal fights with your gear, grinding away and in a party of 8; someone with 3200 hp would be the 'wow ormigawd look at his/her gearz' hardcore player we would all aspire to be. We all died to Hellfire, we all wept, we all picked ourselves up and maybe whined a little and ******* a little but kept going. Eventually month after month our gear level increased as did our remembrance of the fights and skills until we found is easier to down Titan HM et al. Coming on here and saying that you wanna quit because you have lower level gear than people who have played for a longer time is moot. I hope you don't quit, we need players like you that enjoy the game but don't let silly gear levels put you off. Be the best you can be, give it time, befriend people and don't be mean or envious, eventually you will beat that primal or dungeon or raid and be rightly proud!

It can be hard being a latecomer when everyone else is ahead of you. If I was you I would plan out my gear upgrades and take it one dungeon run at a time. Don't get discouraged, soon you will have iLvl 90 and not even remember being frustrated by this.

I use http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/ as it lists all the gear from iLvl 60-115 and how it is obtained.

What server are you on? I encourage you to get in a FC and a few LSes and do a bit of networking and find people who are willing to patently grind some stuff with you and pass on the drops so you can gear up more quickly.

One more thing. I don't know if it applies to you, but if you aren't zoomed out entirely, it's harder to spot and dodge some of the bigger attacks, especially in Ifrit.

This. I'm always telling people to zoom out if they're having trouble dodging things.
