Looking for that "Good ol' days" feeling!Follow

#1 Jun 09 2014 at 11:52 AM Rating: Good
Hello All!

Im looking to find a good server and more importantly a great fc. I miss the good ole days of ffxi when i felt like my ls was like a family! Im looking for a friendly family style fc who likes to help and has a great fc community. Im really missing the feeling of helping others and feeling like part of a team. Also wanting a social talkative fc!

Im loving ffxiv but all i have found recently is elitist fcs who wont even speak to me bc im not 50 or everyone telling me my lalafel warrior is a waste and i should have chose "x race"

Looking for a good group to make friends and enjoy a stress free time in Eorzea! Willing to reroll on any server to join some new friends!

PS. I mainly play tank classes and enjoy fun progressive end game raiding!

Well, dont mean to keep you from playing, but all of endgame is like that at the moment. Up to the point where people will brutally exclude you over single digit stats or set even more rediculous requirements that no one can live up to.

Not saying you cannot or should not play FFXIV, it's a great game in it's own right, but perhaps you should put some thought into it before you run your character to 50 and actually sample the toxic world that is endgame and it's players, especially if you feel the game is already too much for you right now pre-50 and are in need of a new FC because of it.

In other news, all races have exactly identical stats in FFXIV, so anyone saying you shouldnt play a lalafell warrior is more proof of the original problem. Rude, ignorant, dumb (young) and highly offensive players who only care for their own progression.

That said, if you do wish to press on i do honestly wish you the best of luck in finding a good FC. I'd recommend my own, but we probably dont have the numbers you're after, so just going to wait till someone else offers something like that that's a tight knit group of friends.

While I agree that people who pin their dreams on the single-digit margin in stat difference between races are (generously) misguided, I must point out that different races in fact DO have different stats.

There are many good FCs out there, you just need to know what you are looking for. The one I belong to on Ultros is a good one if you want a more casual FC where everyone helps each other out while allowing those that wish to focus on endgame to do so. If you are interested just look for the ZAM tag on Ultros and ask for an invite. (As far as I know anyone with that tag can invite into the fc.)

Hmmm, i actually had to look through all the previous patches, but i cant seem to find it.

I distinctly remember them setting all the stats to universal amounts. Like, i could swear they did... but i'm not above stating that i cant seem to find any reference of it and am apparently wrong. Maybe it was another game...

But yeah, minimal diffirences all the same. :/

The 'feel good' from XI isn't really found in this game yet. There is a distinct lack of things to do that require you to seek out the help of fellow adventurers, especially on the scale you're used to from XI. The amount of time and effort needed to complete various tasks in XI were a strong part of what formed the strong bonds players had with each other. ARR is so much more casual that most of the time you don't need to look any further than the DF tool which does all the work for you.

Its personal preference and all, but yes we need to educate WoW players that this is OUR game, these are Characters and not Toons. Time to beat that into them one at a time.

You had that partly right. Once you level up, the stat bonuses gained from your class are universal no matter which race you picked. So even if a Highlander starts with 17 intelligence and a Duskwight starts with 23, there will still be only a 6 point difference between the two at level 50, all other things being equal.

I don't know, this is the first MMO since XI where I've actually made friends that I keep up with outside of the game. Extremes and Coil initially require a static, or a whole lot of trial and error through the DF. I've been a part of 2 statics and have kept up with just about every member that was in it. I had to unfortunately leave both of em due to work and real life, but I still do Coil and what not with them once in awhile. You can absolutely progress without static, but Second Coil of Bahamut is a pain to pug beyond T6.
