I have a similar question along these lines. Should I save GC Seals for pre-endgame gear? Or can I just blow them on promotions and moon pies?
Save them for venture vouchers or fun housing stuff.
By the time you reach level 50, you'll complete your final job quests and get your AF armor, which blows GC gear out of the water. You could spend some seals on a level 55 (I think?) GW weapon, which would get you through your relic weapon quest (which is much, much easier now, thanks to overall gear progression of the playerbase and the echo buff). Otherwise, though, you don't need any of the gear from GCs.
I suppose it depends on whether or not the player was doing lots of craft leveling using the GC Turn-ins.
I, myself, am sitting at 35,000 Flame Seals and I'm Lv39.
My cap is 40,000 and I gain 3-4k Seals per day; I only use 4 ventures per day (I do the 18h thing to level my Retainers, just started doing that). I have 30-some venture coins on me (I bought like 20 earlier, because I HQ'd a couple items for almost 1k seals per turn-in) already.
The problem I face, is I can't rank up until I do the Lv44 quest, and when I do rank up, I should have plenty of Seals for Rankups, and... nothing else to spend seals on. My FC has all the housing stuff covered, and at the rate I'm gaining seals (my crafts are Lv30-ish) and the fact I'm doing the whole list of crafts nearly every day...
I have......so.......many.....GC......seals.....
I don't know what to do with them all!
So I'll probably end up buying a few pieces because they are cheap as crap. At least the Sergeants' stuff is, anyways. Even the Captain's stuff is what, in the teen-Ks somewhere? At the rate I'm gaining seals now, that won't be no issue for me either; I wouldn't mind a few mid-40s pieces to help me push up to 50.
