This is why I love SE.

Saw That One Coming - Level 14
New Gridania (X:12 Y:13)
NPC: Eral
Reward: Harvest Dance (Dance Move)

One of the children you deliver a gift too, is trying to figure out the dance steps. Lets just say he is very close to getting an extra 30 lives.

What's this about Contra: Contra for the NES, one of the hardest games, EVER, had a cheat code to give you an extra 30lives. Anyone remember? Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Start (select, start if you have a friend)

Anyway, there is no way its a coincidence, no way! For that, I love them. Good job, SE/FFXIV team!

Konami code: Personally used it most for Contra and Life Force.

They put it in something recently where if you used it it killed you I think.

Also mad respect to Life Force. I played the bejeezus out of that game.

It was also the combination King Candy used to get into the vault of Sugar Rush. Where the game code was stored. I cheered on my couch when I was that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YANtjBO8NJg

They just made it for download $5 in the 3DS store. Bought, beat. On second play through. Kids have it easy nowadays with their "restore points". I do like the 3DS. SMB2, SMB, Metroid, Zelda, Zelda II, Milon's secret castle, Contra, Life Force. The thing is basically ensuring I'll never have to dig out my old nintendo and deal with the alcohol swabs ever again.

It turned out to have a completely different meaning, but I got a kick out of the fact that it was M. Bison who first referenced "going Turbo".

Haha. Perfect example of why that movie is so awesome.

You can also unlock a trailer (with some spoilers) for the sequel in Bravely Default by using the Konami code. Of course if you beat the game you also unlock it so you might as well do that instead of the KC route.

I love how many older gamers there are who play FFXIV.

Smiley: nod I also feel like that is a the norm for this game. I have not run into a lot of people that are clearly children or act like they are... for the most part. I wonder how many people under the age of, say 16, there really are.

Contra was one of my all time favorite games growing up. I played more hours of Contra that I could count to the point I was able to beat it without losing a single life. That was over 20 years ago but I'm pretty sure I could still run through the first three stages on muscle memory alone. The later ones I don't remember as clearly.

Its personal preference and all, but yes we need to educate WoW players that this is OUR game, these are Characters and not Toons. Time to beat that into them one at a time.
