Just for High level it seems. Guess people will have to tackle Pharos now. High level will be separated from expert (basically the new dungeons) so no need to worry about not entering high level for wp and ak, and the lot without clearing these three new dungeons you just unlocked. I am excited for the Duty Finder: Trials personally.

That's what I thought initially, but then I saw this after the expert/trial roulette section:
Quote:
* The above duty roulette categories are unlocked upon completing all of their associated duties.

It then goes into the blurb about the high level roulette.

Duty Roulette: Expert and Duty Roulette: Trials have been added to the Duty Finder.
- Duty Roulette: Expert

Available Duties
Halatali (Hard) / Bray Flox's Longstop (Hard) / The Lost City of Amdapor

Bonus Rewards
Gil / Allagan tomestones of soldiery

- Duty Roulette: Trials

Available Duties
A Relic Reborn: The Chimera / A Relic Reborn: The Hydra / The Bowl of Embers (Hard) / The Howling Eye (Hard) / The Navel (Hard) / Thornmarch (Hard) / The Whorleater (Hard) / Battle on the Big Bridge / Cape Westwind

Bonus Rewards
Gil / Allagan Tomestone of Mythology / Allagan tomestones of soldiery

* The duty Cape Westwind has been removed from Duty Roulette: Low Level.

* The above duty roulette categories are unlocked upon completing all of their associated duties.

Registration for Duty Roulette: High Level now requires the completion of all associated duties.
The above changes to Duty Roulette requirements have been made in light reward adjustments, and to give players further incentive to complete all the duties within each category. Furthermore, because a great number of players who register for Duty Roulette have not cleared all duties within a given category, the above changes should also improve average waiting times for players who register for duties directly.

* All players will be required to fulfill the completion requirements of each Duty Roulette category even if they were able to register prior to patch 2.2.

Looks like you now have to complete all the instances before being allowed to use the duty roulette.

SE: "Skip over MY Pharos Sirius? NOT ANYMORE, MOFOS!!!"

I showed that part to one of my best friends and she was so pissed off (she only ever unlocked Haukke HM beyond WP and AK so she'd have easy roulettes), she doesn't want to do high level roulette anymore lol. As someone who actually cleared Pharos Sirius at its original difficulty multiple times, I really have no sympathy. >_>

She may be able to rest easy. Pharos Sirius is being nerfed, and no one knows by just how much yet. It wouldn't surprise me if it became as easy or even easier than the other roulette dungeons, but we'll find out soon enough.

They're going to nerf Siren quite a bit. Yoshi-P indicated they'll be reducing the frequency of waves of ads, reducing the number of times Siren jumps, possibly removing or changing the charm AoE, etc... sounds like Pharos will be no different than anything else by the time they're done with it.

I would agree that the difficulty of defeating Siren was out-of-proportion to the other similarly grouped "high level" dungeon bosses, but at the same time, it's one of the rare healer challenges in the game that doesn't involve simply not running out of MP. It's a shame they couldn't have just reclassified it instead.

I agree. As said in the other thread, I think it's dumb that they're nerfing Pharos. The community's response to this dungeon has been very hypocritical, imo.

If anything, they should have just added 10 tomes to the reward and called it good.

I really thought I was the only one that thought this way.

Playerbase: "We want hard dungeons that challenge us!"
SE: "K." *makes Pharos Sirius*
Playerbase: "OMG TOO HARD, NERF NAO!"

...A little broad, but you get the idea.

This is supposed to be the Gilgamesh battle, possibly at the end of the new Hildebrand quests.

Did anyone else notice the part that says "the automatic logout feature has been removed". I guess the servers can handle us staying online now...but i guess well see what happens. I havent run into any que times lately so i hope it stays that way.

In fairness, in many cases it's different individuals chiming in to complain, so the people who asked for tough content may not be the same people who complained that Pharos Sirius is too difficult.

Honestly, I'm not sure the issue was with Sirius's difficulty explicitly, but that it wasn't exactly "optional" and was tossed in to content people wanted to run primarily for quick tome farming—and had a disproportionately high failure rate. I'm one of the people who hated running Sirius, but not because I hate challenge. It's wasting time I object to, particularly when the goal is 'get in, get out, profit'. Spending an hour and a half in there, timing out, and having absolutely nothing to show for it put a really sour taste in my mouth, and I find it somewhat unlikely I'm the only one who felt that way.

Challenge is great, but I'd vastly prefer the choice of when and where to partake in it (and with whom).

To be more on topic, I haven't seen any change in the notes since last night. Still super excited for servers to go live, though!

Finally, can clear up some inventory. Yay!

Yep, also the new ATMA/Animus quest is a pretty huge grind, which is ironic but expected as they got to keep people busy until 2.3. Looks like Yoshi decided even though people disliked FATE grinding he dumped in 12x more FATE grinding lol.

FATEs are the perfect vehicle for delivering a NM that a lot of people need to kill. It's open, drop-in and on a pretty reliable schedule.

In XI, they had those Trial of the Magian weapons where you had to kill X number of low level NMs. But everyone in the alliance got credit for the kill. So you'd have a dozen level 75 warriors camping out level 30 Daggerclaw Draco. They had to kill him three times as the first step to Ukonsavara.

This really isn't any different.
#71 Mar 27 2014 at 7:05 AM Rating: Decent
I think the difference between spamming only FATEs for leveling alts from 1 to 50 and spamming FATEs as a single step in a questline is pretty obvious. Simply because now you'll be doing other things too, with FATEs being one of them.

It said in the notes you'd probably need the new tools to make the new 3 star items, maybe you'll need the new gathering stuff to get at the new nodes.

So great to see all this new info flooding in!!

Yep, and you can "BARELY" just do it even with new tools. But they definitely are needed.
