Can I use old broke game to install new game?Follow

I bought the old broken FFXIV back before it was fixed. I uninstalled it. I cancelled my account. I did not go the 3 months so I don't qualify for an VIP shiz or whatnot. Is that old broken game still able to install the good new fixed game? Can I still use it or do I need to buy another box?

You can't use that software to install the new one. You'll have to download a new client. Since you played 1.0 before (amount of time doesn't matter, though you are right about the 3-month requirement for Legacy status), you will get a 14-day trial before you have to start subscribing. You do not have to purchase ARR, though, unless you want to or unless you want the 30-day trial.

At the very least, this is how I understand it. I'm a Legacy member, so I'm a little different, but I believe this is how it is.

Here's where you go to download the Windows client: http://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/playersdownload/na/
The client file is 109MB, which, when run, will download the game for you.

Edit #1: addition of stuff in parenthesis
Edit #2: addition of link to Windows client

Vaaniks is correct. I played 1.0, but never achieved legacy status. I did not need to purchase ARR. I got a 14 day free trial. The only thing i did pay for was $20 for the collectors edition upgrade, but that is optional and not a requirement to play.

In order for this to work, you will need your old 1.0 account username and password. If you register a new account, it will treat you like a new player and require you to buy the game.

If I download it from http://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/playersdownload/na/ then how do I pay for it? It's a box to pay game so why the free download?

nvm i found out that link it out dated and even tho u can get a download from them don't

you have to buy the code separately so no point in that as you can get it here - http://store.na.square-enix.com/store/sqenixus/en_US/pd/productID.281295900#.UxvKzs6Tr5w&_ga=1.216434961.668450160.1391091400

I don't think you understand what he we are saying to you.

As a previous owner and account holder of FFXIV Version 1.0 you are ENTITLED TO a free copy of FFXIV:ARR. You do not have to buy a copy, you do not have to purchase an activation code. As someone who held an account in 1.0 you are given the option to swap it for a new 2.0 copy, via download.

Once it is Downloaded, activate your account, using the account you used in 1.0 and it will allow you access to the 2.0 version. After the trial period you will be required to pay a monthly fee.

Does that make sense? Vets, that's right, isn't it?
