I ask because I noticed something when 2.1 came out... i used to see Titan HM sell shouts or Garuda/Titan HM farming shouts every 5mins. Now if you wanted to do either of those things its about as hard to find ppl (and by that I mean geared ppl, not ppl who actually NEED to for relic) as it was in FFXI to get ppl to redo CoP missions to help ppl (pre nerf) if they had already done it. I actually feel sorry for those newer players who might still want/need relic or ppl who do have relic but leveling other jobs

It's not top heavy, everyone is level 50 since it is rediculously easy. You could have a new 50 in a few days. So even people starting out can get everything done in no time.

Friend of mine got Dragoon, her first and only job (excluding the lv15 subjob for the unlock) to 50, and that very same day got her relic completed too and full Dark Light. So really, there's no difficulty whatsoever.

Yeah, 1-50 can be done in a week if you don't get distracted and focus solely on storyline quests. The game is fairly top-heavy as a result.

That does make me curious as to when and how they plan on releasing a level cap increase, though. If it follows the pattern than FFXI did, it'll go to 60 first, then 75. 50-60 will be a steady increase in exp needed, and then 60-75 will also be a steady increase that just turns into an absurd slog. (75-99 in XI was actually way easier because of Abyssea.)

Perhaps you're seeing less shouts to sell Titan clears because of the release of housing. The more successful FCs have already purchased their housing and don't need to actively sell Titan runs, while the less successful FCs that had aspirations of buying housing have given up those goals due to the high price.

Or it could be now that most people have cleared it once (though I haven't) they don't need mercenaries to buy from.

A full set of DL and Relic on day 1? I don't know how that's even possible.

Was this a 24 hour marathon?

The people who would be selling runs are too busy farming 1st time of the day Duty Roulettes, Extremes, King Moggle and Crystal Tower. :D

(150k bonus XP for clearing Halatali via roulette on a 43 WHM? HELL YES.)

I was in mor dhona today, saw people shouting for Hydra, Titan, and Garuda groups.

With 2.1 people have other stuff to do for tomes then farm Garuda,

Has anyone tried HM Titan with the DF after the patch? I haven't had time yet, but I'm guessing with the ilvl requirements its probably a lot easier to score a win in the DF then it was pre 2.1. I know I did a few Titan DF runs pre 2.1 and ran into more then a few fresh 50's in full AF gear wearing level 39 accessories trying to get carried.

A patch just came out, you know? A lot people are not focused on leveling other jobs at the moment because there is a ton of other content to do. Give it a week or two and you will see people back to the same routine of shouting for Garuda, Titan, Chim, Hydra, etc. I've actually seen several Chim/Hydra shouts already. And you can expect to see people selling extreme runs due to housing costs.

Finished the relic quest line in just a few hours. Did atleast 15 dungeons before that. And an unknown amount after that i didnt participate in. Just know that when i woke up the next day, there was a Relic dragoon standing there in full DL >.>

I've had absolutely no problem doing pre-endgame stuff. I'm still working through my first relic and have had no problems finding successful groups for Hydra or Chimera. I have noticed that people who run those often have that party function set up where you can search for them, and they're often in the zone where the fights are zoned into. I've also had little to no difficulty finding groups for the Hard Modes either.

Just because you don't see a shout for something you need doesn't mean you can't shout for it. Start your own party, I'm sure you'll find people.

I would argue that they'll never need to increase the level cap. Make a merit type system (one that unlocks new abilities too), create higher levels of gear. In the end it's just a number.

It's a bit more significant than that when you consider cross-class abilities. Any new must-have abilities are going to spur a new round of leveling of classes you might not have been prepared to level. Unless Mantra meant something to you, if your job uses cross-class abilities from Pugilist, you'd have collected all of them by level 12. But if they add an "I win" cross-class button for Pugilists at level 52, then it's time to put on the boxing gloves for 40 more levels. I think it's an offer that's too tempting for FFXIV's developers to ignore. They want you to experience the game's content, and a simple move like this will spur you into it.

Be that as it may, item levels appear to have a future that ignores and rises independently of character levels, considering they've reserved a 4-digit number for the item level average. I guess you've won when it goes "over 9000." Smiley: tongue

I'm impressed by the fact that no one is bothered by the cap still being 50 as of now. That was a major problem in some other games I've played. On other hand, leveling up was all to look forward to, because there wasn't any new/good content. This has never been the case with FFXI, and doesn't look that way with XIV. :)

It seems to me that the item level is the new way to level up. Once your exp caps out you continue to grow your character via gear.

You know what's really sad?

I saw some poor guys trying to complete the FATE to unlock Crystal Tower. Just two guys there, so I decided to pitch in on my way through. The 3 of us fought that mob for about 20 minutes without really denting it's HP before the timer expired and the FATE failed. Clearly the boost to FATE HP is hurting now that the ZERG is over.

Making FATES part of the Quest Line was just a bad idea. Either too many or not enough people participating. They need to readjust FATE mobs to the current demand (very low).

You know this just reminded me how some people wanted story quest to require a party to complete.

You do have to party to complete story. The first 3 dungeons, Ifrit, Garuda, Titan, CW and Praetorium.

In the expansion you have you to as well. You have to go to Sunken Temple, then complete Guildhests.

The FATES requirement just didn't work well. Maybe they just need to adjust the strength of the new feature the changes FATE difficulty based on participation during the last FATE spawn.

Were you guys sub lvl 50 or sub ilvl 55? I only ask because I cleared these last night with a pt of DRG, PLD, BRD, a random BLM and his healing chocobo and wiped the FATE bosses without breaking a sweat. The PLD and I are fairly geared (ilvl 82~) but the BLM and BRD were in DL or less.
#22 Dec 23 2013 at 2:07 PM Rating: Excellent
Not sure, didn't look at their gear. It's possible that the previous FATE had more participation, and thus was adjusted to a higher difficulty. I was PLD just to hold hate, but I should have run off and switched to BLM for the +1 DMG.

Also, it may just be that the specific mob, the Ixali and Coerthas, was a healer? and therefore just kept curing himself too fast for us to overcome.

perhaps if I had waited for the next round it would have been adjusted easier. Either way, I'm sure it was a frustrating experience for the guys trying to complete it. They may not know all the auto-adjustment features. Also, it was NA morning. They could probably finish it at another peak time.

Still, moving forward I would think SE would want take a look to make sure it's completable by someone with a low-man party. It's not really meant to be a gear-check, is it? CT itself certainly is not a gear check.
