so youre saying doing the 4 daily roulettes nets 800 total tomes? thats like one piece of DL a day in half the amount of runs (8-9 each) it would usually take... surely they couldnt have made it THAT easy.... did they? >.>

Well I got the 800 from doing the roulettes and 1 additional WP... not difficult at all to do now...

I'll finish up my DL in a week..

Aren't you capped for how many tomes you can get in a week though?

I am capped on Myth, but I didn't know you were capped on Philosophy, that's news to me... what's the cap?

Edit: Just found THIS THREAD where a Khornette posted this information, not sure how valid it is:

Quote:
No cap on Philosophy, 300 cap on Myth, 2000 maximum cap on each type of stone that you can carry at any one time. So if you earn a lot of Philosophy you need to spend them before you can get more.

Khornette's information is mostly accurate but was probably written before 2.1. Myth cap is now 450/week instead of the 300/week that it was in 2.0.

Yeah I was aware of that, just quoted for the Philosophy tomes which was in question. Thanks!

He is taking about a cap on ToP a week. There is no cap on ToP per WEEK. Only ToM have a per week cap.

I like it as it gives me extra for something I normaly do anyway. Downfall is sometimes I get the most dense, and dumb people. Over an hr for AK! Thats insane when everyone had done it countless times, nobody was new to it. That was the only irritating thing from it thus far. That and I think I made a tank mad when I commended a blm in Hakkue HM cause he was explaining things and was just a nice guy.

Just one drawback. Just getting that first daily bonus kinda makes you want to do at least one run solo before you join up with your friends.

What is the reason you can't Duty Roulette with a 2/4 or 3/4 party? Can't think of one except it's presumably more difficult to code for the matchmaking.

I know I wanted to do some with Tesee last night and we had to go separate, She did prea and I got CM..

I did the easier one yesterday too.. I got ifrit and we did it in like 5 min. It was a joke, the person that need it really is not learning much when we do something like that. I was like all I have is cure 1 and protect... 100 tomes for 5 min of work..

I was watching Tesee's Prea run and I could tell who needed it.. Poor guy could not keep up and was dead most of the time and they just left him most of the time. They skipped most of the mobs.. The part where you get in the mechs Tesee somehow could not get out of the cut scene and there was the guy running behind without a mech trying to keep up.. This roulette may be getting people through stuff but again they are learning nothing ...

The Bigger picture. You helped someone get thru the story. Dont forget for someone new its gated content as well. You helped them and got a bonus. Its win win for your 5 minutes of time you would have spent somewhere else.

Yep... Learning will come when they get to the HM primals. I don't think it's so bad to speed someone through a level 20 fight.

As far as the solo thing goes, it doesn't bother me as much. I'm usually on around 3am before work, and being able to jump in and get 300 tomes in 90 minutes (or less) is huge for me. Since JP reset is in the middle of the day here, I can do another right when I get home in the early afternoon. So, I'm doing my solo stuff before most of my FC pals are even online. In fact, I was the only one on for almost 2 hours this morning, right after maintenance lol.

It does stink for you guys because you seem to always play together... but absence does make the heart grow fonder ;p

My guess is that it's a conscious design decision to encourage people to help random strangers. If you queue up in Duty Roulette with 3/4 people in the party already, you're only helping out 1 random stranger, not 3. Queuing up with 3/4 is the most efficient way of helping yourself and the least efficient way of helping others, which is the opposite of what the Duty Roulette is trying to accomplish.
