I need to know how awesome it is... I'm stuck at work and desperately want to be home playing, so I want to live vicariously through somebody on ZAM! Smiley: grin

When you hit a touch on a good or excellent, the number that pops up for how much qualtiy you obtained is huge, like you got a critical hit!!

The recipes for 2 star items have been adjusted so that it only requires 9 phil mats for anything. Vanya pants were 27 mats in 2.0

That's all I got to see ><

I should have taken today off work.

Damn crunch time. Just glanced at my calendar, it's all meetings until 3PM. Ugh.

Entry to the Crystal Tower is terrible. You need to quest 4 FATEs that currently spawn every 1-2 hours, and there are so many people camping them they last seconds. Also, you need sliver to progress (this is what I'm learning from the OF).

Sleep in PVP is a bit of a nightmare (last 30 seconds), other than that the consensus on whether PvP is good seems 50/50

Has anyone looked at the Tradecraft Leves yet? I'm curious how much of an EXP reduction happened from HQ turn ins.

It was so tempting... it felt like Christmas this morning when I logged in for 15 minutes.... I started the quest for Crystal Tower and queued for Duty Roulette... then had to leave the queue because it was time for work... Smiley: glare

I'm pleased to say that according to Yoshi-P on the JP forums on the 19th a short maintenance will be conducted to address the FATE issues by increasing the frequency as well as revising the degree of contribution needed for rewards (not 100% sure on the accuracy of the latter fix).

I did Pharaos Sirius. It's anoying game mechanics (3 stacks of crystals and you're dead (Aurum Vale) and egg killing similar to what you see in WP's final boss with adds that give him rage), but dungeon-wise not too bad. Noticed it dropped all the AK items, so dont feel it's worth it.

Speaking of which, i did AK... they ruined it. They said they removed monsters, but the only noticable thing was one single group of Bronto's right before the Wall and one single group right after the wall when you warp into the third phase. All the other monsters they removed were monsters you didnt fight anyhow. Following that they set the clock to 90 minutes, even though you barely need that time, it makes everyone want to rush rush rush. We finished it in 35 minutes, opposed to the average of 40 minutes (because we skipped two Dullahans at the start, and ran past the last two before the boss too, and we had an all Relic+1 party, that might have helped too) AK now drops nothing it used to drop anymore, but now drops the significantly weaker (and pointless) items from WP. Also 30 myth payout is a sham.
Long story short, no monsters removed worth noting, terrible drops now, terrible reward, shaved no time off the total run. Not justified to cut the reward and the drops because they couldnt be bothered to think of new drops for Sirius.

So after one dungeon that wasnt very interesting, and one dungeon that i used to love but now will never set foot in again. That was enough for me.

I did the Duty Roulette. Extremely underwhelming. The daily reward is ok (10 myths from low, 40 myths for high, 200 philo for CM/Prae), the "job in need" bonus is irrelevant. It's an extra 50% gil at the end, i got 750 more gil from the boss.

Two new Minions with a 1 minute lasting lv.15 quest. Good / Bad

New crafting recipes for PVP, which are extremely underwhelming 1-star crafts. So reasonably hard to do, but nothing statwise that beats DL or comes even close. Made some rings, called it a day when they went for 6k on the boards already.

I HATE the new menu interface. The most pointless change. Everything is put under 5 buttons, and there's NO WAY AT ALL to change back to the original settings. Makes me almost want to download some third-party thing if it gives me my buttons back.

New animations. Nothing super thrilling, but ok.

Some new (low level) quests. Yeah, ok, bit late, but ok.

Um... Havent tried treasure hunting yet. I wanna like it, but i dont want to get betrayed with my expectations again so i've been putting it off.

Oh, and PVP. From what i hear it's pretty terrible and just as unbalanced as FFXI's PVP. Which means it wont be played after a week. Currently only enjoyed by the people who have the jobs that are rediculously overpowered.

Oh right, speaking of overpowered, almost forgot about Warriors. They keep up/out-DPS actual DPS jobs now, while also retaining everything they can tanking wise. Actually did Pharaos Sirius with a Warrior extra in the DPS slot, while we already had a tank. Made everything a breeze. Kept up with the Relic+1 Dragoon, only he could take massive amounts of damage on top of that. So something really needs to change there........ :/ And with change i mean, massive nerf.

I logged on for about 30-40 minutes. Was in Southern Thanalan and read a lot of chatter of people whining about waiting for the FATE to spawn there for the CT quest. Apparently, if you grind other high level FATEs in the zone, it can reduce the respawn timer on the quest one.

Other than that my experience is fairly irrelevant since I'm only a level 30 PLd who has managed to fall behind the level of the main questa nd is gridning mobs and FATEs to catch up.

I liked how crafters set the profit margins extremely high for new items and are playing "nicely" to maximize on profits. I bet in a couple of days prices will drop dramatically and profit margins will only be a couple thousand.

BTW, the extreme battles are so fun. I've only done Garuda and part of Titan but, as rehashed as you may think the mechanics are, figuring it out from scratch was a blast.

We were struggling with mechanics (not DPS checks, healing checks, or tank checks due to gear) which is why I love the primal fights. If you're having trouble with Garuda and haven't already found a solution, the spiny plume uses cyclone randomly so your healers just need to be prepared to heal immediately. Other than that, you'll eventually figure everything out within a reasonable amount of time.

Liking what I've seen so far. The Coeurl pet is ADORABLE.

Hope everyone enjoys the patch despite some of the more unpleasant announcements we've had as of late!

First off, thanks for the overall impressions. Not surprised it's a bit underwhelming. Does Sirius drop 40 myth then?

Totally called it with the Warrior improvements. We are back to Ver 1.0 with how overpowered it is to have a Tank that can DD on par with DD. Take a back seat PLDs, it's Warriors turn to shine. Enjoy it while it lasts WARs!

Great thread Hairpspray! Perfect for those of us stuck at work.

CT pre-quests are bugged and take 1-2 hours for each of the 4 fates to spawn.. (patch coming on the 19th)

Plus side, I got 160k exp on monk for low level duty roulette Sashtasha, Leve exp is nearly doubled / tripled, Rev Toll looks awesome, and all the new dungeons give 50 Tomes of Mythology.

Phil rewards are so low on beast quests that I'm guessing nobody is going to do them. You can do 3 a day, right? I certainly won't. Duty roulette is where it's at imho. Nice variety, good rewards.

Same with the chests. Unless they give significantly more of something else, maps will be worthless by the weekend.

Does this include battle leves and crafter leves? or just one or the other?
I would love to see leves become comparable to fates for bringing up other jobs.

Triple turn in crafter leves were nerfed. Battle and single turn ins were increased.

Feared this would be the case... hopefully it's not as bad as it sounds.
