Someone started a petition on the Official Forums. Lets see if we can make this as noticeable as the 3102 thread became.

Sign the thread in the link if you feel SE needs to fix this housing bomb they dropped on us.

I honestly have no interest in housing until they add any real features to it, which won't be ready for months anyway. They should have just been honest and said that housing wouldn't be ready for another 6 months. That would have went over much better with the community than this artificial addition of a feature that no one will be able to use.
#3REDACTED, Posted: Dec 16 2013 at 10:56 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Really?? Down rate if you are a socialist and feel you are entitled to a large house simply because you pay a sub. You and your FC want a big house? Go work for it. Yeah housing is expensive but it was meant to be expensive for a reason. I know my FC can't afford a house yet, but I'm sure we'll work something out to raise funds (if not it's deuces for me.) There are different plot sizes and values for a good reason. Smaller FC will have to resort to a smaller house if that's all they can afford or that's all the effort they want to put forth.

Lol oh boy. Is their anything wrong with working towards something in this game? Everything is so easy to get. God forbid you can't get it right in the beginning.

The only thing I think was unfair was the fact that new players who started on legacy servers got screwed over with the pricing. Sorry, but you guys are @#%^ed...especially the 5-6 family sized FC. You guys have to work twice as hard as someone in a non legacy server. Good luck with that.

But yeah, since the game was made for you and me, all we have to do is ***** and complain to get what we want. I hope SE stands their ground and won't be swayed by mob rule but I hope they fix the situation in legacy servers.

Ah, MMOs, where work is more important than fun. The epitome of gaming.

I do not expect a petition to go anywhere, just as people grumbling about the CT lockout (myself among them) didn't go anywhere. Part of me feels like blaming the language barrier, but replies like some of the above don't help even on games that are English first. I dunno, maybe I'm wrong in the thought that happy customers would be paying customers. Locking what is essentially casual content behind a hardcore grind just seems counterproductive.

I thought it was established that they don't care about petitions?

Probably better use of your time to like the Japanese version of the Housing price complaints thread. There's over 2k already.

(This is the thread that linked to it if you want to see reactions to it in English.)

I want to sign a petition for adding another rank above excellent for this remark only ^^

Seriously, anything that requires a ridiculous time to achieve in MMO's is boring to me. Relic in FFXI? Never tried to get it. Empyrean and Mythic weapons? No thanks. Helping people through tough content where the rewards are new areas and 4 hour + cutscenes? Yes, please! Even getting people through Titan HM would be fun if I didn't have awful lag in that battle always. Hell, I even have lag at Demon Wall, sometimes I have to wait for 5 seconds before it hits me. Fix that first SE, then add something else. And I'm not interested in grinding gil, definitely not to get a vanity house. I wonder if I can keep being interested in this game. Fates are boring as hell, Im actually having more fun leveling my alt, watching all the cutscenes and npc storylines again.

More storylines please....

No one is saying that they want their houses handed to them for free.

I mean, I'm an old school FFXIer. I worked for four years on a silly bard instrument that was obsoleted a few years ago because they introduced a newer, better bard instrument. So I've been working towards that instead for two years (went casual when I started grad school.) Don't talk to me about working hard for stuff in video games.

It's clear they didn't have the server infrastructure in place to allow for every FC to be able to buy a house. I'm just miffed because my FC is tiny, and even with all of us working hard it'll take a long time to get even the smallest house. I suppose I could always join a bigger FC - except, oh wait, the group I'm in is half my friends from FFXI and half my real life friends. I'm not going anywhere.

While it's true that the prices are somewhat proportionate to housing in RL, a house is not something you pay cash for in the real world. You take out a huge loan and pay it off over 30 years. We don't get that kind of option in the game.

This is right on! If you want your opinion to count for something, go LIKE that JP thread. SE has to see big numbers of players in agreement, all in one place, to do anything about it.

I would rather sign a petition saying that Housing should have included a FC credit component. That would have prevented a single rich player from buying up all the plots.

Ravashack's suggestion here is brilliant if you want to actually show support for a direct price reduction.

I must be a socialist according to you then, because I rated you down, and here's why:

I don't feel entitled to anything. My FC and I have been saving since day 1 for a house. According to everything we read and were told by the devs themselves, housing was to a be a fun, social gathering place for FCs where the size of your FC dictated what you can afford. Well, we have a 50+ person FC, we've been getting donations on a regular basis, and we aren't even CLOSE to affording the small FC house. I don't want it handed to me. I expect to pay for it. But I don't expect to have to spend the next 3-6 months grinding gil with every single person in my FC every day just to afford an FC house, and considerably longer than that if we want the large house (which is essential for a group our size).

That's not acceptable to me in a game I play for fun, and anyone who's going to tell me I'm just being entitled and apparently a socialist simply because I don't want the game to be a job will get a rate down every. single. time.
