everyone keeps saying getting AK gear is pointless since ist getting nerfed next week? Is that true? I mean the new dungeons might be gridning more il60 gear but tat doesnt mean itll all be better than AKs il60.... just like allagan weapon ands relic +1 heyre both il90 but i wouldnt choose allagn weapon ovefr relic +1 based on comparing the twos stats.. the only thing allagan would be good for (for me) is for use on my class since only jobs can equip relic...
same with allagan armor and myth armor... id use myth on my job and allagan on my class

Well here is the thing, the max stats on an item are dependent on ilevel, and rarity.
So if they lower AK gear from 60 to 55, the max stats will all be lower. Thus why it is 'getting nerfed'.
As for using mytho vs allagan, thats just silly. Some slots are better mytho, some are better allagan, you use best in slot (bis). Aka if you have allagan monk body, you dont need/want to use the mytho even though its your main class. (just an example i am not sure which of the 2 is actually better).

oh i missed the part about AK being dropped down to il55... if thats true then yes it is a nerf -_-
Why would they do that? Just out of curiosity, I haven't even run AK yet... just wondering.
my guess is to give ppl a reason to do the new dungeons lol
They seem to be creating a little more dispairity between dungeons. As they've said before, they will leave content at a certain level, then ease the difficulty when new stuff is added to give under-geared players more opportunity to clear said content. If they nerf the instance, they should probably nerf the gear. I suspect it also has to do with the incoming ilvl requirement for instances.

Not to sound elitist, but I already considered AK gear to be rather subpar. Like, I have Drg Blm Whm and War in AK gear and I would never even think "oh I got war, I can tank for this guys!" because i don't have any DL.
But I don't think it's getting nerfed. Just replaced by Crystal Tower.
ak is il60 gear ct id il80 lol if anything youd need dl to go into CT only thing CT server a purpose for is having slightly better grear in preparation for Coils (unlike beforew ere youre jumpin into il90 content with il70 gear now youll have il80 gear to do il90 content in thus makint it slightly easier and we'll see much more t5 wins now)
AK gear isnt to replace thinga that oyou need DL for... its to make farming tomes for DL slightly faster and easier than doing it in your artifact armor or WP armor

I didn't read it as the stats changing, I just thought that since it's ilevel 55, what we would consider to be "average ilevel 55" would be stronger than what we consider it to be now. (Wanderer's Palace gear)
That could be it. You don't adjust the item's wearable level, but as you add harder stuff and also raise the level cap you can adjust the iLvl to allow for better comparison between items in the same slot.
AK gear isn't needed whatsoever. As a matter of fact, you can bypass WP altogether and start on AK in artifact armor. By the time you get enough tomes for your first piece of DL, you will probably have most AK pieces by virtue of how many times you've run AK for tomes. Cap out your weekly myth in AK, then farm WP to contunue getting philo until the weekly reset. Rinse, repeat until you have full DL.
Did you know you can unlock WP before you complete the story line?
Doesn't effect most people, and yet I just resurrected one of my old Ver1.0 chracters that had a level 50 GLD. Because of some strange twist of cross-class requirements, and the DF queueing system, I now have two level 50 PLD's.
I want to get him capping Myth stones right away! (I am around level 19 in the Story Quest advancement so about 30+ hours before I can unlock AK.) I just unlocked WP last night and ran it in all AF armor. Thanks for keeping my sub 5k HP Paladin alive Mr. Healer Man!
So I need 9 more runs of WP to cap Myth stones this week, which I plan to do before advancing the Story. I'm sure I will be Needing on every piece of tank gear that drops, and they will all be upgrades.
For the moment WP is not at all useless!

I found this out by accident the other day. I ran my first (and only so far) WP the other day, and I haven't cleared CM yet :)
