Another thought if you enjoy tanking, being the hero, having dps love you because you ended thier 40 min queue wait...you will come to realize that tanking is the easiest job when it comes to boss mechanics. As long as you have learned to hold emnity, the rest of your job simply becomes standing in place and occasionally side stepping an aoe field. The rest of the party, on the other hand, have a much more demanding role on boss fights. You'll see them constantly running and scampering around to dodge attacks not tied to the aggro table. They have a much harder time than the tank.
Where the tank job gets interesting is all the fighting up to the boss. During those fights the consentration switches to the tank. He/she has to be more conscious of enmity control, mob positioning in tight quarters, kill order, and making sure the other members are aware of their surroundings. To me, the more exciting battles are moving through the dungeon rather than the bosses.
If you want to tank I suggest Pld. You have much more control how you work enmity amongst the mobs, as well as great mitigation skills to suit any encounter.
