Oh my...this is so freaking awesome.

The music, the design, the sparkly animations...this was really well done. I can't wait for this patch. :)

Lets just hope that Hard, means Hard and not Anoying again.

Having one strong opponent = Hard.
Having a lot of small enemies or a bad-planned gimmick to beat a boss =/= Hard, just Anoying.

Is it wrong that I'm most excited about the return of Hildebrand? I've always enjoyed a small dose of cheese in my RPGs.

If it's anything like before, it felt a bit like I was Brain and Hildebrand was Inspector Gadget. Not Penny though; her computer book has nothing on me.

Said it before I'll say it again: Now if only they can move past 4 man **** they'd have something. Looks like SE is going to extend CT for the long haul since it seems there's only one boss from past FF so far.

We know this though:

Gilgamesh is in - Not related to CT though.
Cloud of Darkness - At least 9 months away. (Might not be final boss, but if she is, that's a year away)
Xande - At least 6 month away.
Any other FF reference boss - at least 9 months away.

It's a shame too, CT had the potential to make ARR feel like a FF game with the true 'boss gauntlet', even if it's just a floor of non stop bosses from FF games, they're in the dats already..so it's only a matter of time.

If the end of Praetorium isn't a boss gauntlet, I don't know what is. Five straight boss battles that were basically non-stop. I'd also reccommend waiting until CT is released and trying it for yourself before lamenting what it isn't. Based on their dungeon design so far, I've been very happy with ARR, so I'm very optimistic that CT will be fun an engaging. For me, not everything needs to be a reference to a previous FF game. I like how they have really mixed in previous FF elements with their own fresh storyline. So if CT lacks much previous FF-lore, I'm ok with that, as long as it's well designed and fun, which I wholly expect it to be... though it will be much more fun when you don't have to go with 2 other random 8-man groups I'm sure.

I have never seen a "patch" trailer before, let alone a path trailer that got me so excited that I had to jump on the game for a little to calm my excitement.

Great job, FFXIV: ARR team. This game is on the right path, no question about it.

This should carry me for at least 6 months Smiley: grin The extreme modes look challenging as all hell. Idc about housing since I can't design my own house yet anyway, but pharos sirius, the mog battle, the big gold golem dude (in crystal tower?) and the Siren battle look quite awesome. Im also very excited about having more storage ability in the armoire and item sorting on the retainers.

And I saw the lizard mount in the beastman quest portion of the video. Pretty cool!

Hmm. Isn't it way harder to handle several small enemies than one big one?
Like, in every game?

Well, that is hard but I think that would also be pointlessly annoying. Titan HM is hard. If you take EM and add two more Titans, that would be Extreme but it would also be stupid. Just give the enemy a few more abilities that you have to plan for and understand the job, mechanics, pattern, to beat. Se has added annoying features and called them challenging. Well, yes, its challenging but how much though did you put into that?

Its SE's job to be creative and annoying is not creative. What they say they are doing in the HM dungeons is in the right direction. Different path, new enemy, new boss mechanics, etc. That works, just like Ocarina of Time: Master's Quest.

They are really good with these kinds of trailers. My hype level skyrocketed when I saw this after waking up.

annoying is totally subjective? i don't find Turn4 annoying at all. it was definitely "hard" at first though.

Dang. I really wasn't expecting that much content but seeing the video… I'm impressed. I was expecting like a 2 minute trailer when I clicked the link.

It seems Pharos Sirius has some Musketeer enemies in it. Considering the Musketeer's guild already exists...

I can't wait to become one!

Anything that is hard is annoying until you get past it. :)

It's one thing to see that stuff listed on the Official forums, but to see it in a ten minute preview video was pretty awesome.

I was already pretty pumped up when they showed the Extreme mode primals, so hearing their music again was cool.
I'm so looking forward to it!
