FFXIV:APP- Bug report/questionFollow

#1 Nov 17 2013 at 6:39 PM Rating: Decent
Hello!
I have been using the app primarily to log my chat channels and have noticed that the log will 'bump' content in all channels other than the 'Say' channel as newer content comes up. For an example, on 11/15/13 I was in an event where the Say, standard/custom emote, tell in/out, and FC channels were involved. I have a custom tab set up so that all these channels show up on that tab (I have it titled Social, which is the same title for the tab in game that has these channels turned on). In the Say tab, the program has saved information from when I logged in ([18:39:15]) to when I logged out ([21:54:06]), roughly 9 pages in Wordpad. The "Social" tab only saved the information from [21:23:47] to [21:56:21], roughly 5 pages worth.

Is there a way I can set up the app to save everything in that one channel from login to logout? Or is there somewhere in one of the files/folders that has the 'lost' portion of the Social tab's log?

That was the question portion.

The (possible?) bug report I have is that the Save & Clear Chat History button on the top of the app appears to save the log as an XML file only and does not clear the chat history from the program. Is this working as intended and (if so) is there a way we can save the chat history as plain text or rtf so as to make it easier to log conversations/events?

Thank you for your time.

Hi :)

All the common chat codes are actually stored in their own separate log directories under logs in txt format if you have "save logs" enabled. The documents you see on the screen clear themselves every 500 lines but the internal tracking does not. Also when you click save/clear chat history it's outputting the current log to the xml and then clearing the internal (unseen) log; but not what's in the text boxes.

Hope that helps!

Thank you for the reply!

I do show the folders in the "Log" folder (say, FC, LS 1-8) but there is no folder nor log for the emotes (custom or otherwise).

I appreciate your time in replying and looking at this! :)

Never made one for emotes ;) Let me look at some more options down the road and thanks!
