Legacy Character QuestionFollow

#1 Nov 06 2013 at 10:07 AM Rating: Decent
So, I tried asking my question three different ways to SEs infamously stellar customer service folks... Only to get three completely irrelevant answers. I'm hoping someone here can help.

I played 1.0 right up to the end. But I have been out of the country since ARR launched, and will be for another month. Can anyone tell me if my legacy character will still be around? Or am I doomed to start from scratch?

It's there.

Unless you can't log into your account because you lost the PW or something. It also could have got hacked, that seemed to be a huge issues for a few months. In the end, if you know all your information and your account has not been compromised, you will have access to your Legacy Character.

See you in a month. You are in for a big surprise. ARR is superior in so many ways. /welcome back :)

edit: a few months, at the start i mean. Hacking was an issue. The RMT were probably luring people in with gil and power leveling and stole their identity instead. You could have also fallen victim to a fake login site. Advice: get a security token from the android or iStore

Thanks for some great news WFOAssassin.

I still have all my acct info and have been reading up on all the changes. I'm pretty excited to get back and see ARR. I wish I could download the game here, but Internet service is pretty bad.

All 1.0 characters were imported to ARR, regardless of whether they asked to be or not. SE probably anticipated a lot of people holding off on ARR to see how well it did, and they just did a giant database conversion from 1.0 to 2.0 that included all characters who had ever been made in 1.0 (except perhaps 1.0 beta characters that never got imported to 1.0 properly.)

So no worries, as WFO said, your character will be available provided you have the login information. You'll also get all the 1.0 perks, including a nifty tattoo on your character's neck/back. You may even qualify for a reduced subscription fee, depending on how long you paid for 1.0 before the servers were shut down.

Welcome back!

I have a question about this as well

I Had a character on 1.0 right at original release but didn't stick with it

When ARR came out I created a whole new Character (I wasn't happy with my old one anyway) and I just re-registered for my SE info

I still know the old login stuff how would I recoup that old character? I only care because I had a fair amount of gil on him lol

If your account was created with a different Square Enix login, just try logging into the SE account with that information. I don't think you can combine SE accounts on the websites, if that's what you're asking.

Keep in mind they shaved a digit off your gil. If your 1.0 character had 900,000 gil, it only has 90,000 in ARR.

AAAANNNNDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EVERYTHING COSTS 10% OF WHAT IT DID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry... Don't mean to be shouty, but everybody seems to forget that part. All they did was remove a zero from the economy. There is ZERO difference in your actual wealth/purchasing power.

that 90k is actually a big chunk of change... If you have anything over 75k Id say its worth getting... Hell anything over 50k is. However, 50k for one month of fees, that might not be worth it. Up to you I guess.

I've gotten 50K easily just by doing fishing leves and selling certain HQ fish and rare fish to other people to do fishing leves. Smiley: lol

Then I turned around and spent it all on new fishing gear.
