I'm not going to try to convince you otherwise. As a matter of fact, I'm done with these forums. It wasn't only you, just tired of the attitudes overall. I really shouldn't blame the forums either, the entire game is elitist and why I'm leaving it. It's a cancer where nobody wants to help anyone else out. I couldn't even watch my CS's without being reamed and that was like the 3rd week of the game being out. Anyways, enough of my complaining. Laters..

The subs were dropping like flies and WoW advertising like a election race. Mr. T is on Wow, C.h.u.c.k. N.o.r.r.i.s. is on WoW, Tyra Banks is on WoW. Everyone that is famous plays wow and The Mr T I pity fool that fights me. The pets are like Tera like the healing Fairy. Tera's died fast and its range pet did also. I wont be shocked when WoW 2 comes out soon. Since a new everquest is coming out and they copied everything from it.
#154REDACTED, Posted: Oct 24 2013 at 3:44 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Tanks in Tiaras! I guess I am one. I don't mark targets during trash mob fights. Nobody says anything most of the time. Probably scared I'll get princessy and leave the group. All is well most of the time. I start fight with threat aoe overpower and/or flash. DDs pick something, I in turn focus my threat abilities on that mob. Shortly before it dies, I pick the next and the DDs usually follow me. Sometimes DDs will even start marking targets, why not?

Just had a lovely encounter with Princess DD's.

I see all these people demanding relic+1's for their runs, so i figure not to bother with that. Shout out that i would like to give WP's speedruns a try, but that i've never done them before and probably need someone to tell me what to do. Seems decent enough, get an invite, and before we set out, i make adamantly clear that i've only done regular WP's and i have no idea how to speedrun this, and they should simply tell me if there's something i need to do. Everyone is ok with it, so we head in.

I pull the first group, and people are ******** it's not fast enough, it's not a speedrun, and i should pull more. I go out and pull the second group, and we apparently die. No one is telling me anything or helping in any way. Next thing you know, the extremely unhelpful DD's who didnt even get up to the standards they set themselves bail on us just 2 minutes into the run at most, shouting all kinds of insulting things in Mor Dhona right after. Seriously,

**** DPS princesses...

Part 1

Part 2 that didnt fit on it anymore...

Maybe I'm missing something here, but marking just doesn't seem that crucial when you got a tank like me who adapts to and uses threat attacks on whatever I have least hate on unless of course it's sleeping.

you are missing something, its a pretty basic concept called focus firing. marking isn't necessary to FF, obv, but its pretty dumb to not press one or two buttons/keys to make sure everyone is focusing the same target. I mean, w/e its trash, so eh, but still.

Got a new one for you guys!!!

On 50 whm doing ifirit hard mode, using DF for my relic:
1 pld 1 war tank, and pretty much the standard assortment of dd
As soon as we zone in, and it says duty commenced, PLD runs forward and starts tanking ifirt.
Didn't let us buff, just ran straight to ifirt.

Fight starts and eruption is going off, so we all ask if he plans to stun it, and of course he goes into d-bag mode.

"No im the MT on this, why would I stun"
"STFU"
"DONT TELL ME HOW TO PLAY"
"Deal with it"
"Someone else can stun"

We end up clearing it, but we had to setup a stun rotation with the 2 bards and monk mid fight because he leroy jenkins'ed us. Its not a hard fight dont get me wrong, but jesus it didn't need to have 10+ deaths due to eruptions.

If i had to guess, he has been on stun duty and has been failing over and over, and he leroyed so he could claim he is the MT and not have to stun.

I dont even mind if a pld doesnt want to stun, just give us a chance to setup a rotation/buff. Really am getting close to setting up a wall of shame website so people can post names/pictures/descriptions of these d-bags.

^ That reminded me of a HM Ifrit I was Whm'ing last week. We had a War and Pld also and the Pld refused to stun and kept fighting the War for hate. The two kept arguing about who was doing what and after the second wipe, both of them stood at the starting point and refused to continue. At this point the bard (who had more hp than both tanks) pulled Ifrit to the two tanks while they were still throwing their fits. They never noticed the rest of the party run away and got killed pretty fast. After that wipe the bard said that the both of them should leave because he'll tank it from now on. Not willing to be out-done, the War yells, "you're just a stupid bard! I'm tanking this!" and charged in. Surprisingly, the rest went off flawlessly, stuns went off well, people stayed out of the bad stuff, and no one died. Moral of the story: if you're dealing with a moron or two, just try a little reverse psychology. It might work.

Edit: tasty adult beverages gave that Brd too much hp.

Not likely. One lie makes the whole post a lie.

this also rang completely false to me /shrug

i dont doubt that the story happened, more or less. just mostly less.

although it is totally possible for a well geared BRD to have more HP than a crap geared tank so eh.

Even a crapy geared war or pld will break 5k super hard for a brd to do that

I don't know how this Brd managed it but he had quite a bit more hp than the Pld and a couple hundred more than the War. What would a full Allagan/AF-2 Brd have?

again, its totally possible. Bard in AF2/allagan/DL. PLD in mostly AF.

From memory, my AK/WP/Primal - geared PLD only has a couple hundred more HP than my DL/+1 DRG.

Idk a decked out drg will barely break 4k which pld will in that set up, and no way did that brd have more hp then the war

Just did an Ifirit HM run, Paladin OT missed two stuns (he was on top of it up until this point), no one died or anything, but two people immediately dropped group after one of them said something along the lines of learn to playSmiley: disappointed and this was pretty early on in the fight.

Like I get it, I've only ran Ifirit probably like 10 times, and It gets frustrating when people mess **** up and you wipe, but at least give someone a chance ffs.

the funy thing about eruption and people raging about missed stuns is, eruption shouldn't be that hard to dodge in the first place.

also, re: the pointless HP debate above, p sure i was comparing my party-buffed DRG to my solo no-buff PLD for some reason. Regardless, the HP disparity can easily be dismissed by a PLD in AF with crap AH accessories. I've seen people in primal fights with literally level 30 accessories...

True. Problem is, people know that there is a stun strategy out there and feel that they shouldn't have to move. Ever. Because reasons.

Just did a quick and lazy search through some 50 Brds and only a few were shy of 4k hp. I know I fancy myself a drink every now and then but I must have been having too much fun that day. Anyways, I'll quit derailing this topic now.

My FC mate DRG have relic+1 and 3 Allagan pieces (pants, legs, hands) everything else is DL = around 4.3k health ; And a BRD will have less health than DRG, so I doubt a BRD could have more health than War in AF unless half of the War gear is broken or somehow the BRD have full Allagan/AF2 and using Vit ring (+ vit bonus stats allocation);

PLD maybe but still not too sure about that.

well keep in mind that the bard could have been using food with VIT, and the PLD wasn't. also consider that a full set of PLD AF1 will add about 750 HP while a full set of Bard AF2 will add a little over 1800...

I had that same thought the first time I did HM Ifrit. Because people were discussing stuns, I assumed there was some ability of his you absolutely had to stun or it would be a wipe... (EDIT for clarity: It should be noted here that I went into this fight with experience only on the story fight and a one-line intro about the charges).

Little did I know it was the ground graphics that I was cheerfully just moving out of whenever they popped up under me. Didn't really even slow me down.

I always move out of them early in the fight until I hear the little sound that means it was interrupted. IMO the only time it is really important to stun is after hellfire when there are multiples or when you stack. In a pug I move every time.

I always just move also, on the off chance that it gets resisted, or whoever just misses the stun. One of the people who left that party was a scholar who I watched just stand in the eruption and get nailed by it, like I get it, it should be stunned, but that doesn't mean you should just be lazy about it.
