I was leveling my war, almost 50, when DD spawned, as usual my party rushed there and i followed not so happy(not really fond of lolDD)

when we got there, the spawns were...slow, instead of instantly respawning, it was taking 10-15 seconds for each respawn.

needless to say, i am happy lol

I wouldnt say that too quick. I was using DD to spiritbond gear quick. 200-300 kills during the duration of one DD was enough to cap most things out :/ Such a waste of a good spot.

it was generating a bad atmosphere tho

only parties with aoe would truly benefit from it, making jobs like war and paladins excluded from it, and when someone even killed 1 lamb, people would go nuts at that person instantly.

Probably a good thing... on my server there was "AoE only" groups forming... totally ******** anyone not in that group.

The first time my wife went to DD she was told to "F*%in Die" because she did not know not to kill the sheep. Great way to treat first timers.

On the War Note: I usually can hit the XP caps by using a spam of "Over Power" and "Flash" when needed.

Overpower just has a way of nicely linking new mobs to you even if they are dying quicker than they can spawn

I wouldn't mind them 'fixing' it, it does get kind of tedious. Although until they do the expectation will continue to be as is unfortunately. The community will act in a way that maximizes their XP/hour however ridiculous the path to maximizing that is. If it was standing around typing out /cry for hours, you'd have towns full of crying characters with people calling anyone who didn't stand around /crying an idiot until SE changed it.

Right on

I'm sure the horrible community in this game will find new ways to make the atmosphere bad. I'm a bit surprised they nerfed it though, since they confirmed it was intended behavior just a few weeks ago in an official post.

I expanded this post just to further down-vote it. I've never done that before, you should be proud that you invoked that big of a response... that's got to be a new troll record or something.

Don't expand the hidden post, it won't turn it into gold. I don't understand why people stay if they hate the game so much. Personally I love the game, but I won't be staying much longer if the bad atmosphere doesn't clear up soon.

If you stay off the forums (especially the cesspool that is the official forum), the atmosphere is a lot less negative.

We do pretty well at Zam though. Most people here seem to genuinely enjoy the game, and want it to succeed.

I'll second that. ZAM has a great community (minus me I'm a horrible person) compared to the official forums which are a cesspit that other cesspits look at in quiet awe.

I would say that Zam has the best community, not that it is a great community. At some point (I think when the official forums went down for days around release) we were hit by an invasion of angry downraters and occasional ragers. They haven't gone away. They are less noticeable because they can satisfy their rage somewhat by clicking red arrows without having to argue, but they're always around.

I'm looking forward to another MMO launching, any MMO launching, so they'll migrate and hopefully things will be better in game and on the forums.

I guess it's a testimony to Zam's sucess that it's still here - out of the "big four" only BG and Zam survived, Core has disappeared completely and Eorzeapedia forums are like a ghost town. FFXIV Pro still has some posters and I've no idea what happened to Yellow Gremlin, it was possibly wiped from existence due to having consistently wrong information.

Ya there a few interesting crops for the locusts to swarm to next like TESO, Wildstar, err.. something else. I'm sure they'll swarm those two though since they're higher profile. Might even start yet another "Why this no F2P?! F2P is future!" war for Wildstar given its pricing model (completely ignoring the in game time purchase option). I eagerly await seeing how predictable the swarm is.

I can't think of any online community I'd rate as "Great". They all have problems and they all have their share of good posters and trolls alike. To me the idea is to find a place where you feel you fit and stick around with it. Some are worse than others but that's just my opinion of it. I'm sure there are people on the official forums who feel they wouldn't join any other community. Same here I guess. It's all a matter of opinion. I like the forums here because it has a fair level of moderation and the people tend to want to discuss topics rather than ******** about each other all day.

As with any community you get out of it what you put into it.

I am happy with this change as well This was a huge waste of time for lvl 50's who are just farming seals, and also a waste of time for classes which struggle with AoE. Fate grinding is already incredibly fast exp wise and this particular super fate chain already has more than adequate reward without the removal of this “mechanic“.

I'm glad they finally put this FATE where it needed to be. Watching people threaten other players who did not know any better for ruining their Easy XP was pathetic. Even after the nerf I watched a DRG tell a BLM to put a gun in his mouth simply because the BLM killed the sheep and had absolutely no idea why the DRG was yelling at him. Many of us gave SE the benefit of the doubt because we thought the Community would be just as good as it was in XI Pre-Abyssea. Unfortunately as it stands many players' reviews have made it worse than WoWs

Wait what?

Game reviews made the DRG in your story into a douchebag? Please explain.

I apologize for my lack of clarity - Many people have made posts on other forums about how terrible the XIV Community is.
