That is all. I use the convert cooldown as a timer. Flare does trigger firestarter, and can keep the astral chain going. I usually cast after Fire III because with Astral Fire III up it deals 1k to all enemies. After using this macro I am left with ~1200mp I can use to throw one Fire and then a blizzard III (fast cast since astral fire III is still up), then Fire III, Fire I and continue the chain.

It's strictly fire 1 that triggers firestarter.

After further testing this week, I've concluded that thunder 1 or 2 probably is the best scenario during the regen phase.

Assuming 2 firestarter procs, thunder 2's duration is the perfect ratio between cast speed, DoT damage, and duration. T2 will fall off between the burn phase and regen phase which prevents, as the DOT video says, DOT clipping.

I swear that i have had firestarter activate off of a flare. Oh well, I'll side with you Hitome, you seem to be the authority on this.

Good to hear you say that. I was beginning to suspect the same. Thunder II = 3.0s cast is managable, where Thunder III = 3.5s cast is too much. Thunder 1 just doesn't seem to pack enough DoT, which really adds up.

I saw a WHM kite a the second AV boss and win with Aero this weekend. That was pretty cool. Instant DoT's are pretty great for kiting. Hmmm, the possibilities...

A blm can totally kite the chimera in cutters cry (he moves so slow). I almost took him down by myself from 1/4 health a few weeks back. Had i not tried to lb i would have made it.

Heya Jy. While correct, it is more complicated than that. In order to use the spells without pause you must figure out how to use the spells to consistently cast them on fast cast and quickly regenerate your own mana at the same time so as to create a loop. Many blm don't quite figure out the rotation until they get to 50 (I being one of those). One of my ways of paying it forward.

I'll give it a go and report findings.
