I was talking with my friend earlier and he mentioned that his other friend's group was considering going to a different server because of Ultros being overpopulated and also because it is the official 4 chan server. I looked it up and apparently that is indeed the case. This most likely means that our server will end up with a somewhat poor community filled with 12 year olds that like to say your mom. I guess on the bright side their ADHD will kick in and most of them will move on to the next new thing and never look back.
If only I got 3102ed and didn't get all my crafts to 15+ XD.

Thus the saving grace of a sub model. The worst of that community won't pay for a sub on this game when they can troll for free elsewhere. I think it will be fine after about 90 days IF they even buy the game

Well, Duo Maxwell is a character from Gundam Wing, so it's probably not that unusual that others would use that name as well.
As for 4chan being on Ultros...I guess that'd mean the server will be busy for a while? I doubt anyone's about to abandon ship or anything, but I doubt they're going to be that much of a nuisance. Odds are, they'll either keep to themselves, or get bored and move on to the next big thing soon afterwards...

I thought I had read somewhere that despite being the an unofficial RP channel, Gilgamesh is also the unofficial 4 chan server.
Oh dear god I was hoping to avoid groups like reddit and 4Chan. It is now insanely tempting to start over on a whole new server.

During the P4 on another server that 4Chan was playing on I had a friend on it saying that they were ******** with the the market boards almost immediately setting insane prices to everything. All the while buying up other things to ***** the economy from the get go.
This is where having a great LS and FC come in. We can provide what need for each other until this sort of nonsense plays itself out.

Guys come on... how much are those people going to even affect your average gameplay? I mean, you'll be chatting with LS members anyways, not those people for the most part...
And Duty FInder pulls from every server so it's far more likely you'll get people from other servers who are a-holes before you'll run into a 4Chan member.
There's no reason to stage a mass exodus because it's rumored that 4 Chan will be there. Besides I kind of like my character and I don't want to have to make a new one.

Makes absolutely no difference to me. That's what the blacklist function is for. If they are annoying, blacklist them. Our community is going to be so big it really isn't going to matter whether or not 4chan is there, we will most likely never have to interact with them if we don't want to.

To be fair here, I played WoW on the server with the Reddit guys and I never even noticed they were there; well except for their guild's progression level, which was usually quite good. They didn't really have an impact on the server community at all.

Honestly this is what I'm talking about... we won't even notice these guys most of the time... we'll be one of the biggest FC's on the server, who cares what they do. We'll be too busy having fun to care!

Hyperion (ha, borderlands) is a good sever. My better-half and some of her online friends went there so I followed suit as I don't know anyone else that plays this game personally. Her group of friends are, to me, weird but I guess they are the standard daily internet/forum/blog people. But overall Hyperion seems to have a solid community.
Yup, don't care about 4chan. If they want to pump monthly fees into the game just so they can troll it, then that's fine by me, too. Heck, I'll send them thank you cards for supporting the game whilst using my shout filters.

Yea you're gonna have trolls no matter where you go. During p4 I thought was pretty good, a lot people asking questions a getting answers which is always a good thing.
Yeah, I also thought the P4 community was fine.
One thing which I've noticed in all stages of beta is that this new community (all servers, not just ours) is very into "shouting" conversations, rather than speaking in /say or /tells. In FFXI, shouting for no good reason was somewhat taboo... but now, it seems shouting about anything from dungeon raids to LOLcats is deemed to be fair game. That's going to bother me way more than some 4chan kids, and the shouting is going to be everywhere.
