Garuda summonFollow

I think the Garuda summon wouldnt look so bad if it looked a bit more bird/insect like. Ifrit has a fiery appearance to him and Titan has a rough texture to make him look like rocks. Garuda looks extremely reptilian to me. Garuda would look better if it looked like it was bird molting with insect-like eyes. They should make its head more spherical because I feel that its head looks too emaciated and it doesnt remind me of the Garuda primal at all. Right now it looks like plastic. If they add Ramuh I hope they dont make him look like floating cotton candy but an elderly man/ skeleton with an electrical current running throughout his body. If they add Shiva I hope her egi will be a lady with a glimmering prismatic/translucent scarves surrounding her light blue body.

No, it's the "I want to read less of this kind of post button". This isn't the first time this guy has posted complaining about the way Egi's look. It probably won't be the last time either.

I don't know if I would judge whether FFXIV has the worst looking summons out of all FF games judging purely based on Egis, since free companies will be able to summon Primals.

Personally, I would rate FFXIII's summons really, really low. I wasn't a fan of the Transformer summons.

I'm not a fan either, but I will get used to them. I can see how silly Garuda Egi would look if it had a face, but it doesn't have anything that says "That is Garuda" for me. If I didn't know it was Garuda, I would think it was just some mob. Ifrit and Titan are much better and more recognizable. They will have to be careful with the Leviathan Egi design for sure or it will look like some tiny blue worm.

Transformer summons? That's a very good description, actually!

Final Fantasy XIII summons were cool in their own right, but they didn't have the same epic feel to them that, say, summoning Bahamut in one of his many iterations in the series had. Primals, at least, have potential to be truly epic when summoned. Whether they will now or down the road or not, I do not know, but the potential is there. I look forward to seeing what SE has in store for us.

I enjoyed the XIII summons for what they were also. I'm rather shocked actually that internet machismo was not impressed with two chicks turning into motorcycles. I would have thought that'd gone over better.

Wow, I was able to use "machismo" in a sentence.

No, I must have missed Garuda before. I just now saw it for the first time.

Titan looks like an elemental... I don't know if Garuda is even worthy of that title.

But yeah, Garuda and Titan make Ifrit look good, lol.

Not only are you a troll. But you are also, in fact, a liar.

Besides Ifrit, they look like they should be elementals or something IMO.

That is a direct quote from you in that thread. There are exactly 3 summoner pets. "They" implies you are talking more than one. If you are excluding Ifrit then 'they' is automatically Garuda and Titan.

But please - try and fail again to BS your way out of being called on your obvious trolling. It's kinda funny...

While I agree that their models are a bit underwhelming, I still think they look pretty good. With them being permanent pets for the summoner, I think it was necessity to make them small. They aren't really the full-form of Ifrit or Garuda or Titan. They're more like a lesser essence-form of them.

You're not really looking at this with an open mind.

Taste in them is subjective, there is no reasonable about that. I, him and many others don't like them, find them ugly. I would have gone for at least a more recognizable summon, didnt have to be big, just a summon and not an inksplot. Is it gamebreaking? No, will I not play SMN? Not even it will be my main. Thats why this is important to me.

I actually really like the Titan and am growing more fond of the Ifrit. I'm not a fan of the Garuda but I don't hate it.

What I would have preferred, as a compromise from the awesome XI summons would be a similar model to the actual primals, but at a size only slightly larger than the egis, and also semi transparent. That way, even if they were taking up more screen space, they wouldn't block out everything completely. Also lore wise it would represent the actual primal you are drawing power from, but only an ethereal piece of them makes it through under your control. Then maybe you summon "Shade of Ifrit" or something like that.

The Garuda "Primal" looks fine. I'm sure you mean Garuda-Egi. Mayhaps you want this game to be FFXI when its not? Maybe you would prefer this instead

They do look pretty pale compared to carbuncle >_> looks more like elementals than anything else.
Would be nice with something that at least looked somewhat.. I dunno.. Intimidating!

And whats the logic behind; You beastmen can't summon the primals, because it hurts the planet, but we as players (FC) can because.. ehm

Beastmen are smelly. The primals are all like "Do I have to?" and the beastmen are all "Yeah dude, we sacrificed 50 virgins for this, so do it." "...Ugh, fine."

When the players summon, they're all like "Hey, it's a party! I brought the chicken wing dip!"

I cheat. I just take ALL of them while everyone else argues over the superiority of one over the other. Win-Win situation, I say. Smiley: grin

The reason this poster gets sub defaulted everytime he posts is because he never says anything positive about the game it's one complaint after another. Personally I don't think I've seen him say one positive thing about the game. I'm rather confused why he's even here he hates the game so much obviously dunno why he's so determined to play it. lol Even if on occasion like this that I agree that the egis in general are disappointing but it is the way it is I'm pretty sure yoshi p knew they wouldnt be well recieved and why they were kept hush till just before release. Which gives me hope at some point they'll get a redesign.

I will be playing SMN no matter what the egi's look like. It's about the job, not about how pretty (or not) my pet is.

Also, pancakes? It's all about the french toast!

I would have liked the Garuda egi to look more like a chibi-Garuda.
However I also don't hate how it looks like now.
I just pray the Shiva one, if they add it, looks *like a mini Shiva* because she is my favorite summon.
