Have 1.0 collectors, just bought standard ARR - QuestionFollow

Hello all!

I have the original 1.0 collectors edition and bought the standard ARR edition yesterday to get early access.

Does anyone know if I can use the early access code (as well as the Cait Sith and Moogle Hat codes) on my original 1.0 CE account?

Thank you.

I just used the code in the 1.0 CE, and it didn't work. Anyone know if I'm doing something wrong?

May I ask why you bought ARR if you already have 1.0 CE? You get he game for free..?

Pre-ordering the game gets early access and the Cait Sith pet and Moogle hat.

You don't get those with 1.0 CE

You can't add a PC pre-order to an existing PC 1.0 CE account (which is what it sounds like you're trying to do). It has to be a PS3 pre-order.

If you had 1.0 CE you get all the items for 2.0

Wait, I'm a 1.0 CE non-legacy. I pre-ordered the PC standard edition to get the EA code. Are you saying that the code won't work for me?

I'm getting mixed answers.

Do I get early access and the bonus items as a player who has 1.0 CE and is a legacy player?

As a 1.0 CE edition holder you get :

ARR CE edition in-game items.

You don't get the following :

Pre-order bonus - Early Access, Moogle Hat, Cait Sith pet

Hence my confusion - two different answers

Ok, This is how it is;

Legacy Member = Early Access

1.0 CE = You get the 2.0 SE items (Helm of Light, Coeurl Mount, Behemoth Barding, Baby Behemoth Minion) , Not the standard edition items (Moogle Hat, Cait Sith pet)

Okay, thanks for clearing that up :)

Why would you buy a game you already own just for 3 days of access?

Thats what I was wondering, But thinking of it again, He gets 3 days early access plus Moogle Hat, Cait Sith pet and a months free gameplay, instead of 2 weeks which the 1.0 buyers are getting.

He already has CE, he gets that stuff anyway. So anyone else who purchases ARR CE gets the month, the goodies and the early access. He gets half as much time, goodies he was already going to get and early access.

I guess it just doesn't make sense to me. I mean sure it's his money and he can do what he wants with it, but the 2 extra weeks isn't why he's getting it.

Moogle Hat and Cait Sith Doll are preorder bonus items. Not SE special items. You get pre-order bonus items for pre-ordering ARR. SE or CE.

You can be a 1.0 CE owner with legacy status and you WILL NOT get the moogle hat and Cait Sith doll unless you pre-order ARR.

"Players Who Own the FFXIV version 1.0 Collector’s Edition
Players who own the FFXIV version 1.0 Collector’s Edition will receive the FFXIV: ARR Collector’s Edition in-game bonus items (Helm of Light, Baby Behemoth Minion, Behemoth Barding, and Coeurl Mount) for free. The in-game bonus items will be delivered via Moogle Letter when FFXIV: ARR launches."

I don't get early access as I am not a legacy player, even though I bought and played the game at release in 2010, I just didn't stay long enough to pay for 3 months of sub.

I don't get the Moogle hat or the Cait Sith bonus, either.

The site doesn't state the pre-order bonus' are not available for people who originally bought 1.0 and no one seems to know the answer.

Does it need to? You gotta assume you aren't getting something unless they specifically say you are. You can't go by the assumption that you are getting ARR pre-order bonuses for not pre-ordering ARR because of some criteria you fulfill that hasn't been stated by SE.

Yeah, I was just separating what he already has and what he will get if he pre-orders the game.

Given that FFXIV 1.0 already had an early access associated with it, it's doubtful that early access would be granted again. You have to be legacy or pre-order the game to get it this time around.

It doesn't really bother me, but it does seem like a bit of a cash grab. Same goes for the minions associated with extending the period of your subscription. As much of a problem as people here generally have with F2P and the stigma of P2W, this really isn't any different.

Pretty sure he's saying it doesn't say that 1.0 CE users cannot also preorder to get early access and pre-order items, not that 1.0 CE users should get them automatically (which they obviously do not).

That kinda goes without saying. Anyone who pre-orders the game gets early access. Why would they exclude people who already paid them once?

Got me, but I've seen people say that you can't get both, which just seems strange.
