Wow, that duty finder is fantastic. No time looking for/forming groups making PUGs much nicer than usual as everyone has had a chance to practice.

Took Maurader to 16 in P4 and it was just like when I first logged into 11, wowed me at every corner, especially after playing 1.0.

Yeah I really like the duty finder, nice an painless. I also like that I can switch to FSH while waiting on another job.

Agreed on all points. It was fantastic as a follow-up to 1.0 as well as set in the unique world I've come to love, but modernized to fit today's lifestyles (in reference to XI). They've done it right in my opinion.

There was a time in my younger years that I had the time to sit and wait LFG all night long. Now as a full-time worker and aspiring family man I just don't have that kind of time to dedicate to a game. I love that XIV let me feel the nastolgia without tying me up too harshly.

The gameplay to time ratio is balanced just so that I can enjoy the game as what I'd consider to be a hard core'ish player without segregating me for being an adult, and I can still feel the sense of accomplishment when I gain Rank 1 in my hunting journal, finish quests, etc. All without LFG for hours.

I thought I saw this somewhere else, is it possible to put your Gear Sets on a macro bar so you can switch between jobs on the fly?

I thought I saw something about that too. I never took a look at it though.

It's a great feature, borrowed from other modern MMOs of this generation no doubt, but there are a couple features I'd like to see implemented:

1. let me see who is from my server, so I can friend list them later
2. prioritize people from my server
3. even give me an option to only play with people from my server

The third option has been a subject of decent discussion: http://ffxiv.zam.com/forum.html?forum=152&mid=137694411273901685

Most of this is because I feel it's a bit too impersonal, great for the majority of people who just want to get the quest done quick, but I'd like the option to play and meet people from my own server, maybe even help out some low levels needing a tank/healer etc... Or even trade, hey you tank this for me, I'll tank the next one? Cuz we're all trying to level up lower level jobs too.

Pretty sure you could map it with the controller.

Yeah, there's no talk time now. It's all business, that could get old. They need to put some breaks in there somewhere.

You can. Simply click and drag the gear set to a hot key. Much like with emotes.

You can also set a particular hotbar to be shared on all classes in the options so you don't have to reconfigure every single one.

This is exactly how I set mine up. It works Soooo nice. Just hit R1 to swap my hot bar and I can change classes in an instant. HIGHLY recommended.

I put my gear sets on hotbar 10 and hotkeyed them to alt+#, then hid the hotbar. You can still use keybinds on hidden bars.
