Update: just finished the Artemis Bow Novus a few moments ago. Settled on a 35/25/15 build because I liked the "round" numbers. This is probably what I'll end up doing with the rest of the DPS novus weapons I make as well.

Kinda glad I did, because it turns out I did need at least a bit of accuracy.

As for what I'd like to accomplish, it's going to be doing some Alexandrite maps, thinking about setting up some type of online forum for the Coil static (as amusing as it would to go old school and set up a LiveJournal community, that's not going to happen), and pick away at crafting jobs (notably ARM and BSM) and fishing.

Oh, since everything I would work on for ARM and BSM requires iron or steel, I should go and farm up a mess of iron ore. At least all the mining spots for that are in one place.

Looking back at this, I managed most of what I wanted to do. Still need some way for the Coil static to communicate, since attempting to use crystal-induced telepathy doesn't seem to be working.

Many folks I have staticed with use Mumble, Teamspeak, or Ventrillo. Think it requires money to set up a server. While in game I have 13 million, in real life I am on a budget (and therefore can not do it). Wish they took gil...

Skype is still free and I use that sometimes with people.. All the LS I was in used skype in FFXI but this game seems to use more of the ones you mentioned.

Going to try to get WHM to i90, @ 83 now.... other then that maybe try some of the newer dungeons out now that my gear is getting better, perhaps start the Atma quest for WHM too and start farming for it.

Holy cow... I actually got to i90 WHM!! And I did some new content, the Hunt's are so much fun! And Syrcus Tower too! I wish I had read up on the loot situation for ST first, I wound up needing on an Unidentified Allaghan Tombstone when I really needed to be trying to get loot... oh well... it's Monday so I can run it again soon for loot :)

I think the Hunt's might actually be more interesting for Crystal Light, she may actually want to play some end-game stuff with me again. She hates dungeons, but Hunts are a different animal altogether.

Overall I'm very happy I came back when I did the content has changed in a more positive direction!

Got WHM to i91 now, it's even further ahead then my DRG was before I took a break!

Going to run ST again and try to get some i100 gear for him since the loot locks are now reset for the week. Smiley: grin

Voice communications is bad, as I usually play on silent (or very quietly.)

Also, people complained they couldn't understand me (come on it's just an Atlanta accent) and complained that my rapid typing was way too loud - and that was BEFORE I got the mechanical keyboard.

I'd prefer to stick with in-game text with an out-of-game forum system personally. If required I could put on headphones I guess. I'd need to buy a new microphone; my old one fritzed out and started telling my system it was a bootable USB device.

Headphones with a mic on them I find work fairly nice. Back when I bought my Razer Banshee, I never really expected to use the mic.

But, a good friend of mine who I play Warframe with, taught me the ridiculously high value of a Skype call during fast-paced gaming. You really really really can't stop to type in the middle of battle, especially not in a game like Warframe.

I find there are times even in XIV that I wish I could say something like "Hey tank, pull them back before that patrol sees you!"

But... even though I type 70-80WPM, there's no way I'd get that out in time.

Or..

"Hey guys group up for Medica!"

.....nope, typing that ain't gonna work.

Skype is ridiculously awesome for any sort of gaming, and I can vouch for the fact that it is very lightweight on bandwidth and CPU resource usage; Warframe is a game that you will notice any sort of lag in.

With the mic being attached to my headphones (I use a USB headset, so I don't have to sacrifice sound in one ear like cheaper headsets do), my hands are always free to do everything, and I can talk and they will hear me.

Yea coil would be hard without voice... At least being able to hear so the person giving direction doesn't have to type things out.
Also helps with timing for people to call things out, like phases...

I am used to voice communication since I played so much xbox and chat is standard.. When We used to compete is was mandatory and could not have been possible without it to call out when a enemy was spotted and their location.. You went to type that out and you could be dead by the time you typed it..

Oh don't get me wrong, I saw the value of it during Salvage. (And that's where all the complaints about my unintelligible southern-ness and hammer typing came from..)

But I play the game in the living room, and I'd rather not torture my husband with annoying voice conversations if I can at all help it.

Hence, voice communications is bad for me personally. I'd rather avoid it if at all possible.

Two of my Warframe clanmates have heavy British/Austrailian accents; one is a Brit, the other Aussie. My main friend in that clan is from Georgia.

Accents don't usually bother me unless they are incredibly thick, then maybe my APD starts hindering me. But that usually doesn't happen unless the accent is abnormally bad, and/or a person who slurs their speech too much (younger kids these days, a lot of them talk like they are on drugs...)
