Video looks amazing on both platforms however i was very excited to see the PS3 run as well as it did... only issue i seen was the tails on the miquote but from what im hearing i think my intarweb got a lil laggy on me so its nothing to worry about... guess ill just continue to be a dreamer unless chosen for beta!!!

I am really excited too. I also want to note that the music is very nice but I don't think we will ever get another West Ronfaure. BUT the music is very very nice.

As long as there is another Zi'tah I will be content.

Does look amazing!

So I pre-ordered for PC but if in the future I wish to purchase for PS3 also the accounts will be linked correct? Meaning I could log into either console and pick up right where I left off?
#61 May 24 2013 at 11:18 AM Rating: Decent
yes that is correct... or at least thats how it reads off to me

There WILL be another ronfaure! It was best in retrospect and after experiences had taken place. No there will not be that particular melody but Im optimistic 2.0 will deliver an identical experience.

The Ronfaure music was without a doubt one one of the best from FFXI, and one of my favorite Uematsu songs period. That whole OST rules.

I loved the battle music. 2.0, to its credit, does seem to be doing a better job of using tracks that fit the environment, unlike 1.0.

The Salt Stand kinda reminded me of Qufim Island (visually). Thanalan's 'choon' felt like a blend of Windurstian and Altepian themes. Pump:Stoke increases for sure.

The Zi'tah and Ronfaure music were my favorites as well. I also loved the weird off beat song when the pirates attacked the ferry from Selbina>Mhaura. Really set the mood.

It's a great OST man. I quit FFXI years ago but I still listen to the music every now and again. I really hope some of that stuff found its way into ARR somehow. Whether it be a remix or whatever. It'd be a nice way of weaving the two games together.

I am amazed how much hidden lake reminds me of the villages of FFX. The people, voices, music...this game is going to be a unique "mmo" I have concluded that.

Cool, thanks. I see what you mean. There's an ambiance there that definitely didn't exist in 1.0.

I have a feeling XIV is going to have some real classics, just like XI did.

I really, REALLY like the Manthra run animation. The forward momentum tilt, body balance, and just the sheer look of it screams feline balance and grace. I have no intention of playing the female Roegdyn (sp) variant, but even I've got to admit it fits in extremely well compared to the male versions.

The sheer color variation and nostalgia of some of the areas shown is breathtaking. When the Salt Strand showed up for a split second the light flare, colors, and ambiance of the place made me think I was looking at Zanarkand and I immediately looked for the water sword for a few seconds.

The more I see of ARR, the more excited I grow. I didn't play much of 1.0 due to general disgust with the game so 99% of it will be brand new to me. In that fashion, I'm glad I didn't get a beta invite so that nothing's spoiled for me and it literally will be a new game for me.

Personally, August 27th can't get here fast enough and it's making logging into FFXI that much harder atm.

PS. **** YOU URGANITES. TAKE 'EM OUT. NAO.

I got to go to the Salt Strand during the media event, it's a very cool place.

Is it just me, or does it look like they've made the world even bigger than it was before? I know they still have the general areas like east, west, north, and south parts of each major area (la noscea, thanalan, black shroud), but it looks like they've taken those and expanded them into something much larger and much more lively and vibrant. I feel like I've missed out on a lot by not participating in p2. :(

Also, Wint, did you happen to come across the big snowy area when you had a chance to play in the areas outside of the black shroud? At first, I thought maybe the salt flats was the snowy area, but after watching the video again, I'm more under the impression it's in La Noscea.
