It would sure help if they had descriptions to go with their names, so you know what they sell before buying the wrong one....
Some are obvious -- Siegecrafter Merchant -- but some are really not, like the Apprentice Merchant. (Does s/he sell apprentices? Or does s/he want the Grandmaster Merchant's job? If the latter, will s/he reveal what he sells that she can't, or doesn't sell that she has to, or *something* that at least hints at what trade(s) they supply?) And my favorite, the Incantation Merchant (who purveys ... sheet music? albums w/ backwards Satanic lyrics? spells to make your ex-lover celibate for life, unless you want them back?).
Or, say, whether the best source for dye ingredients is Poison & Dye Supplies; Dye, Tincture & Enchantment Supplies; or the Dye Supply Master.
Perhaps Mythic thinks just telling you which merchants you need for a given trade would make crafting too easy and cause an oversupply of player-made goods that would in turn make pro farming unprofitable. No, wait, that would be good.
Or maybe they're trying to reduce inflation by forcing us to buy them all and taking money out of circulation. But surely I am not alone in needing some $ for gear for my toon for when he's not trying to shop. We'd just have to buy it from gold-sellers, and there's the inflation right back.
But I can live without these answers.
Somebody please just tell me which house merchant sells SCing ingredients. (I'll renounce all other trades & write them off as a thanks-offering.)
"Enough clues: sure, they make it easier. And then the WoW players come."
