I'm coming back to DAoC after a long...long break. My charactors are gone so I'm back to elvel 1. Are there enough people playing to group at low levels these days?

Truthfully, the amount of people starting from scratch on the normal servers is very low, and you will have a hard time finding peeps to group with.

I recommend going to a classic server. There is no /level 20 on those servers, so everyone starts at level 1. Also, the servers are only a few months and did attract a lot of casual games to them that don't have 15 alts at 50. You can always get lucky and get into a guild that will help you on the normal servers, but if you know nobody, that is what I would recommend (Gareth, Ector or Lamorak).

Hope that helps, and good luck.

Stick with it, if you played evena little before, you will know the basics of the game, and you can learn Catacombs easy enough to find how much easier it is to level than it was when you played last.

Also, if you did not delete your toons, they probably still exist. It is common for toons to have been logged off in Old Frontiers, and b/c this area no longer exists, the toons don't show up, but you can ask a CSR or send something to Mythic and they will retrieve them for you and port them to a place where they can be recovered...this is semi-common for players that were gone a long time and has been done many times.

I just picked up DAoC Epic Edition today. I've never played before and will be going to an RvR server.

I'll be starting at level 1 too, Loketar ;)

Welcome to the game EvilPeppard...I would recommend you go to one of the classic servers (they are still RvR), but those servers (Ector, Gareth, lamorak) are newer and have more new people to the game. Also, everyone starts at 1 there, so you will have a better chance of finding people to group with there.

You can succeed on any server, but you will need to find a guild to take you in and help you with questions you have. You automatically start in a newb guild, and sometimes you can find help in there by asking, but a good "real guild" will help you much more.
