Well I've been everywhere trying to fix this issue and no one seems to have a clue so here goes.

I just downloaded and signed up for the 14 day trial. The computer I was trying to put it on is my Compaq Evo n800w Workstation.

it has dual pentium iv
1 gig of ram

no here's the main point
ATI Mobility Radeon 9000

So I get all setup and start, pick a server and then the screen just goes dark. I get a cursor... I hear the music... but that's it it's a black screen and i can't make a character because of this let alone play the game. I've been all over looking for vid drivers for it but for some odd reason on compaq and ati sites all they offer for 9000 are the FireGL 9000 not the mobility radeon 9000. anything that say radeon 9000 without the mobility won't work i've tried. I've been to the DoAC site and looked through all the support pages about vid problems... nothing. so is there any way around this so that i can actually try this game out or should i just give up? WoW, FFXI they both ran wonderfully on the system and from the looks of it it's not like this game is so much better looking.

I'm not sure what cards if there are a specific list that are supported beyond needing just 64MB+ Memory on the card but I have an ATI Raedon 9000 Pro and it works great. Maybe you need to run dxdiag and make sure there's no issues and make sure you have the latest driver installed for the video card you have. Sounds like you have a laptop and I don't know how that Raedon is supported for games. But that should give you a start at what to do.

so I've beeen trying to find a laptop that will run DAOC, Mythic does not support their game on lap tops.

I've been told that I would have better luck with a ATI or nVideo then with and intel chip.

Let me know if you are able to get your card to work.
