Reguarding the Epic Edition....Follow

#1 Jan 08 2006 at 11:49 PM Rating: Decent
I just purchased DAoC epic edition.

It has all expansions activated but when i view account info and then expansions, it has "Download Now!" next too Trials of Atlantis, Catacombs, and Darkness Rising expansions.

Altho the expansion content is unlocked on my newly created account, do I require to download the expansions? or would they have been installed with the 5cd installation the Epic edition shipped with?

Thanks in advance, the only reason why i ask is because those 3 specific expansions have the "Download Now!" next to them and the Trials of Atlantis does not.

Catacombs should be included in the Epic edition. Make sure your account is Catacombs enabled. Darkness Rising is the new expansion and you can download it for $19.99.

Um...I thought the epic edition included darkness rising. If the box says it does then you don't need to download it.

I am recently returned to the game after a very long absence (pre-SI days, even!) and picked up the Epic Edition. It includes all the expansions through DR.

ok, reason i asked is i know it includes the activation of all expansions. just was unsure if the 5 install disc's it came with actually had the content on them...

you see, the catacombs expansion itself is 4 discs alone, so 5 discs doesnt seem like it would hold the entire DAoC / All expansions suite on a mere 5 discs.

Hmmmmm, now I have nasty doubts. I should probably email customer support just to make sure. Hurray for my assorted neuroses! ;)

I popped off an email just a bit ago. Hopefully I'll hear something in the next day or two and will let you know. :)

The official response from Mythic customer support:

Those links are just active so that you can download our different clients at any time - you don't need them if you bought Epic.

So we are good to go. :)
