new to hibs whats the best solo toon?Follow

I am by no means a DAoC veteran. I played it for a few months way back when it first came out, and just recently got the game again and started out fresh (No level 50s).

Now, I did get me some play money (eBay Plat) to get me started, so it has been MUCH easier than starting with Nothing.

Anyway, I think the fastest leveling toon in Hib is a Ranger.

I've solo'd it to 40 in about 2 weeks. (Game time says 2 days 3 hrs). About 50 hours.

The reason I say Rangers are the fastest, is I pop yellows at a rate of about 6 per minute at my current level (40). I don't really mess with OJ's as "sometimes" my critical misses, and that just means I have to either RUN or duke it out (and sit down for 5 minutes).

Yellows and blues are pretty much just none-stop kills.

You have to remember though, I've bought all the best equipment within reason max out my stats and use Nothing but FFB arrows.

My Celt Ranger's stats with items and pathfinding buffs are:
Str: 162
Con: 146
Dex: 231
Quick: 208

Weapon: 1024
Damage: 1319
Hit Points: 1192
Armor: 514

I was bored one night and grouped with a Druid in TD. We were taking about 1 minute per kill (Not enough room in TD's to do long range sniping, so I had to melee a lot). She was thinking "WOW, we're getting Great XP!

So I politly said, "This XP is actually sucky. Follow me."

I took her to a spot where I kill everything before it gets to me. I was killing about 4 to 5 per minute.

Rangers Rule.

Now, when it comes to RvR... that may be a different story. :(

Whether you can "rape" a Ranger or not is not the question. "Good solo" and "Fast leveling" was the question.

With my CL5 Ranger, I can group a level 20 Druid (or whatever really) with me and PL him to level 50 in less than 40 "played" hours. I did this with my Druid on my other account. With NO Free levels... I made it 50 before I ever had a chance to use one.

Also on my other account, I have a level 40 Eldritch with 15 "played" hours thanks to my Ranger.

Can a vampiir do that? ;)

Well I am i little late in the response, but I would have to say a Vamp is a great solo toon to get xp fast. It does take a different type of play style though, you have to keep moving to hold power. so if you grp you run your casters oop and they want to sit for mana and you have to keep going or sit and lose mana. Vamps and awesome farming and PL'n machines, I play on classic server so we dont get /lv 20 so i have to PL toons to 24 for thid.

Other clases like the ranger is a very fun and good solo class for hib. I like my rangers and i aggree that it is a really good class for leveling.


casters i dont play many so i cant help you in that area.

LOL the only reason I brought this thread back up is because hes dead set that rangers are the best solo class in hib....I wont lie the do good on their own....If and that is IF they are speced right. Vamps are the solo kings and for the fact that he says you have to keep moving for power...ummm isnt that the key to lvling faster....keep moving.LMAO! With a SM spec you have a self heal and a end steal....what more you want? Then would come Ani's just for the fact they are amazing as well.
