Yes, this is a post asking about the game, I know I'll get told to download the free trial and read other posts, but I have some detailed questions I want to ask, not the standard crap like "is this game better than WoW? Whats the best class?".
First off, I know that there are fair amount of expansions in this game, but, is this game like EQ1 content wise? What I mean is, are there like 200 different zones and all that? One of the things I loved about EQ was that since the game had an ungodly amount of content I could go back to old Kunark and even some Luclin zones, and play by myself and do stuff that no one gave a rats **** about anymore. I guess what I am asking is, are there alot of places to explore, and are the zones all usually pretty full, or are there some zones that are consistently empty,
Does this game have any atmosphere? I love getting a feeling for a zone I'm in, being in certain zones affecting my emotions and feeling different things when I fight the mobs in that zone. Or are things pretty generic and emotionally bland?
Whats the balance between pvp and pve? I know about the RvR system, but is that like 75% of the games focus, or is it 50-50? Or is it literally like 2 whole games, 100% pve stuff with a side of RvR? I have yet to find a game where I liked PvP. I HATED PvP in Guild Wars and in Star Wars Galaxies, but PvP in Daoc seems different, more fun.
Is there anything resembling EQ1 "Raid mobs;? Enemies so hard that you need a large group of people to kill them? Also, this may sound very stupid, but are there alot of internal "dungeon" type areas in Daoc, or is it mainly outside, wide open areas? I loved some of the deep, intricate dungeons in EQ.
Is the population of this game dying? Can I group failry easily if I want, and find a guild for RvR, or is it dropping off big time with the release of WoW, EQ2 and all the other next gen mmorpgs?
How much of this games content is in the form of instanced dungeons/areas? I really despise instances.
Lastly, how screwed is this game by botters and famrmers? How crapped up is the economy?
Thanks for any help you can provide! I'm this {} close to getting this game, these questions will make or break it for me.
