I just started playing Doac. I just hit level 13 blade. I am still in Mag mell :P I have been doing the catacombs quest in Mag mell. The exp is just so low its not worth it. Where else can I find catacombs/dungeon quests? What is the best way to go about leveling? Through questing or just grinding levels? Any input would be much appreciated!

Here is one of the main reasons Dark Age of Camelot is at equilibrium. Most long time players are able to use the /level command and go right to level 20, have tons of money to give their low level toons, can craft or buy player made gear or high level drops that people sell in housing, can powerlevel their own toons or have friends who can do it for them.

I started out as a Ranger and soloed most of my way to 50 on my first toon. That was so painful I acquired enough accounts and levelled a bunch of toons so I could power level whatever toon I wanted next. DAoC is a huge time sink, and that first character that you level will open other doors but will always be your first toon.

Task dungeons and kill tasks in Domnann are your best way to 20. Questing does take a long time, and sometimes the quested items aren't very good compared to what you could buy off the merchants.

My advice is to try and get into a decent guild, but don't expect them to do everything for you, most established players are busy killing the enemy or farming for cash, but most will help you more than when you not in a guild. At the end of the day, you are responsible for levelling your toon. Check out vnboards.ign.com and this site of course for some levelling strategies.

ok here goes... im currently in afghanistan with a few months to go before im back. welli took leave time to come home for two weeks. i got home and found out my guild switched to ablion/pellinor to ector/hibs. so i went there and had to start from scratch with a blademaster lvl1. well not knowing hibs that much i started at magmell killing as fast as i could and doing kill task at lvls 3 4 and 5 to get to 5 to be a BM. after that i starting hitting the task dungeons there in magmell. at lvl 11 to 20 u have to go south to the next task dungeon. u can solo decently with a bm speced right (mine is gonna be 50blunt 50cd 10shield rest parry). but i tried to grp with a druid/warden/or bard. with any of those three u two can grab mad xp from the task dungeons and lvl up quickly. so i kept doing that all the way to lvl 46. before i had to come back to afghanistan. within 2days of /played time in game playtime i went from 1 to 46. so just duoing with one of those 3 u will lvl fast and as u get up in rank get some decent armor and weapons with ur money u gain.well hope i helped some and good luck
