I have a 50th ranger and I hav a friend who wantsto make a toon that will compliment him in RvR. Any ideas on a good toon would be appreciated. He suggested a toon with a stun or mezz but I am not sure if wither of those effects remain after the enemy has been hit, any help with that would be helpfull as well. Cheers guys, gl and hh.

When your target is mezzed if you do any damage to them it wull not remain affecting him, stun on the otherhand will stay affecting him. I suggest another ranger they compliment eachother very well, but if you really want stun you can have eldrich/mentalist/enchanter as a choice of those its really his personal preferance because they all do quite well.

Void eldritch
Crit Shot + spec bolt + baseline bolt = Dead anything (that's not a tank)

plus the void eld has a 9 second stun if anything goes wrong.

ranger / ranger good duo cause both stealth and shoot. I like.

the mages all stun 9 seconds (it's a light spec spell tho so if they aren't light spec mage it will be a bit shorter)

void eldy is fine, or light menty with the big pet and nukes (and good stun spec)

I'd prolly pick enchanter as teh duo mage for the run speed buff tho. duo like to move faster if you both not goign to stealth. and the pet is fun too. mana chanter is very powerful.

come on guys, if u are a ranger and want a duo mate u either need a ns or ranger. depends on play style

i got both on hib/exc and i think best duo is (ranger ranger) both melee specced and both with grapple and body guard, can swap one to soj and get fz, wather breathing and that dam immunity thing that last for a few sec. ports comes handy too

ranger and ns can be as good but ns will need ml9 so he have poison/snare spike and mezz poison.

like ranger ranger best because one ranger can chain grapple and other finish of with arrows (cant lose vs solo) if u meet two u can bg who ever gets hit

u dont make a visual char for grping with u if not a speed bot bard imo because ur ace is that u can stealth

my 2cents

This is going to sound a little out of the blue, but go with me on this one. How about a Creeping Animist. Although he can't hide and may take away the element of supprise, he will have the best AOE Mez around and will give you the chance time after time to pick off whatever is mezed. Plus he will have a pet that will be attacked instead of either of you.

I know its a little out of the blue, but I have seen this work. This requires you to always play as a team. And being that he will be a Creeping Animist it would be best for him to always find a group.

My husband and I have started a pair of rangers together and it rocks. We are just finishing up in Thid, and they don't know what hit them when we both crit them at the same time. I resisted playing a ranger with him, and tried other classes, but this one works really the best. The only other combo we thought might be interesting was a nightshade/ranger combo.

Have both a RR7+ ranger and a RR6+ NS and I have to say Ranger/NS combo is the most fun pre-New Frontiers, still fun in New Frontiers, but a ranger and ranger combo is probably best. My ranger is melee and I have enjoyed duoing with another of the same spec or my old duoing partner a RR6 NS. Crit shot, continue shooting and the 2-3 people charge you, as the first one gets to you, the NS PAes him, gets the CD stun off and uses mezz poison to mezz the two others with the original who dies quickly if the whole PA chain comes off. Then pick the next weakest, kill them and finish off the other. Bring end pots because killed 2 v 3 or 2 v 4 uses a lot of endo.
