I would say Cabalist, but then I'm biased. I have a 50.

Your question is much too generalized, in my opinion. What do you think you'll enjoy doing?

Do you want to be a fighter, getting down and dirty and throwing yourself into combat? Or do you want to be a caster, callin on your magic skills to engage your enemies? Do you want to be a stealth class, sneaking up on your enemies and dispatching them only to disappear as soon as you appeared, or shooting arrows from far away, putting as much distance in between you and your enemy? Or do you want to be a healer, not involved in combat but keeping your realm mates alive?

It's not possible to just say what the best Albion class is the best because they're all different. It's like comparing apples to oranges. So start from there, and then maybe we can help narrow it down.

Or just roll a scout, because I'm a scout and I'm partial to them. :)

Necro is the best as far as I'm concerned...to start with anyhow. Why? Because you can level the fastest and then start another toon with the level 20 command. Then you can play any class you want with no problem. It's the best by far for PvE...no one would disagree with that for sure. And RvR is pretty good as well. So if I started from scratch, I'd defiantly start a necro as my first toon. After that, you decide.

Grats, Cherra! Getting a toon to 50 elicits a big /sigh of relief, no matter how many times you've done it with how many toons. Way to go.

If you wanna be a combat-based character (I'm assuming a fighter type), try a merc or reaver. They're both a lot of fun. A lot of ppl will say "play a paladin!" "play a friar!" which is all fun and good, but sometimes.... pallies can be boring. Try a merc, imo.

hmmm, good q. well, it definatly does depend, and every class is well balanced when u compare, u just need to learn how to play it. But, as far a pve tank goes, sword/shield(S/s) pally, pve caster, NECRO! DUH, if you dont consider that a real caster, then i guess id have to say a sorc. best hybrid pve- by far a reaver. all though pallies are pve and hybrid, theyre a well known tank in all games, so thats why im gonna say a reaver cuz they gen chain armor and use whips, dots, and life taps, plus nice pbae debuffs. In rvr the best caster is a sorcerer. The best tank is a reaver, even tho its a hybrid, its still a tank. at lvl 50 leviathon pwns. But, all around, Im gonna have to say a minstrel. They get insta cast dd(2), mez/ae mez, stuns, speed, heal chant, hit fairly hard, can stealth(although its ****** stealth), can use a shield even tho u cant train in it, wear chain, get a very nice absorb buff, and if i left nething else plz say. Anyways, with a minstrel, what more is needed to be a succeses in rvr and pve?
