Joining a guild: newbie questionFollow

#1 May 13 2004 at 10:47 PM Rating: Decent
Hi all

I have just reached level 10 with my first character on Galahad server. I was wondering what level I should think about joining a guild, and how to find one (not many other players around my level in Camelot Hills)? I am also in Australia so would like a guild with a few members who would regularly be on at the same time, if possible.

Any hints for finding and joining a guild most welcome :).

Thanks

Different guilds have different requirements for membership. Many have a website you must post in, most require you to group with them a few times so they get to know you. I encourage you to be polite, if you group with someone who is in the guild, after you are done (and it was a fairly successful group), mention the that character that you are looking to join a guild. More often than not, that person will talk to his/her guild manager, and voila! Good luck finding one.

First thing you want to do is find out what guilds have people online at the same time you are usually online. Use the /who command to find them. You also want a guild that has some lower level characters so you'll have people to group with.

Guilds in DAOC aren't as elitist as I remember the guilds in EQ to be, so there shouldn't be a big problem getting admitted to one. There are no penalties for switching guilds so you can always change your mind later.
